Himax 2815/2000 and Phoenix 45 problem

I just built a new Boomerange wing with a Himax 2815/2000 (similar to a Mega 16/15/4), Phoenix 45 ESC, Berg 5 RX, and using Hecell 1800 9 cell packs.

The problem is about every 5th or 6th time I throttle up, the motor wont come to life. If I wait for about 5 secs in the off position after it not starting it will then power back up. One time at the field on Sun. it would not power back up at all until I unplugged the battery and replugged it back in. As long as I dont shut the throttle off all the way, it seems to work fine. I have about 10 flights total on it so far in the last two days and it has done this no restarting thing 4 times so far during flight. I know I have good connections on everything. I have not changed any of the stock setting on the Phoenix 45. I am only pulling 18 amps so I know its not hitting LVC.

Do you think I need to change the governor mode or the start up mode to fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Gerald

Will fly for food
The basic answer to Phoenix problems is to buy the PHX Link kit and update the software. Lots of starting problems with various motors haveve been solved by doing this.

The problem is that all the electronics are buried in the wing and covered over. Im really hoping that I dont have to cut this thing back open to program the ESC.

You don't need to take out the controller. You just need to be able to get to the receiver plug of the controller. Hopefully that's not too difficult of a task.

Additionally, hope there's some ventilation for that controller, they can get warm.
