Concho River Yacht Club

May I humbly present our gang of irregulars, Concho River Yacht Club. Carl, Charlie, Eric and Stephen. On this inaugural sail we had on the water Carl's new Seawind, Charlie's V32, and my Canterbury J. We started off in extremely light winds and got some very exciting 15 plus winds later. Boats are being built and drones prepped for video on our next get together.

Good fun for all involved. I suppose we need to get those buoys ready.

The Seawind points a bit higher and accelerates faster, however the Canterbury J has the advantage in sail area and waterline length. All told they are nearly matched. Of course we've only had two sailings yet. Two more CJ's about to be built.

Black Friday Sail.

We had a great day on the river for our Black Friday Sail. Carl , Eric and myself (Steve) . Carl had his Seawind , code name "Submarine " , Eric had a new Vela 1 meter and I sailed my Canterbury J. We sailed nearly to Sunset with winds from South East at 5-15 all day.

It was a really nice day for sailing even though a bit gusty. Our new buoys were a big hit with all involved. Thanks for that Stephen! More photos next time...

Status of the CRYC: One Canterbury J (two more coming soon), one V32, one Seawind, one Vela 1 Meter, and two Schooners building. Also non sail, including submarines, warships and live steam! As we enter the winter build season (we can sail almost year round in West TX) many great projects are underway. As the only sailing group for a 300 mile radius, and an informal "sail what you brung" sorta bunch. I expect to add a few more friends to the group by spring! I am thrilled, as we are off to a great start...
