New altitude record for maned glider

Really cool video of new altitude record set in September. Looks like they used the whole coast as a slope Thatís some serious lift

This is quite the project. I heard that Airbus was a sponsor for this undertaking. The idea was to ride the wave lift that feeds the solar vortex that goes up over Antarctica. They had a goal of 90,000 feet, but conditions have to per perfect for that. The sailplane design took into account the thin air.

If I remember right, the plane is built in Bend, Oregon; Greg Cole of is involved.
Once atmospheric wave conditions are right down there in Calafate, they hope to go to 90k feet.
Steve, I'm with you on the mane... the best spelling Czechs in the whirled cannot replace basic orthography skills... : )

I stand corrected: The Shuttle was a "Lifting Body".
