Stocking Stuffer Drones for Christmas (JJRC H66 X-MAS Egg // H67 Flying Santa Claus)
JJRC H66 X-MAS Egg // JJRC H67 Flying Santa
JJRC has come out with two Christmas theme micro drones that are great for stuffing the stockings. H66 X-MAS Egg, and H67 Flying Santa. This review covers both of the JJRC family of holiday drones and compares them so you can make a more informed choice on which one to buy. (Or you could just buy them both. ![]() 🎅JJRC H66 X-MAS Egg: https://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopt...?lkid=11801995 🎅JJRC H67 Flying Santa: https://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopt...?lkid=11801994 Video Review
Images ![]() They both come in nice christmas-themed boxes so they are fine to gift wrap if you so choose. ![]() One of them is an egg styled drone, and the other is a more typical micro quad 'whoop' design. ![]() The X-Mas Egg is two bladed and arms pop out; the Santa Claus. Both have the same brushed motor design. ![]() The battery on the X-Mas Egg is placed internally. It charges with a micro jst connector. The Santa Claus uses a jst-ph 2.0 connector and comes with a 260mah JJRC-brand battery. Both come with a USB charge cable, but the Santa Claus can have continuous flight time due to the external battery. ![]() The X-Mas Egg comes with a camera that streams wifi video back to a smartphone. The video is 720p and is quite good. ![]() The Santa Claus weighs a heavy 4 grams but can thankfully be removed. It's a fully movable "block" figurine. As for the quad -- It's basically a JJRC H36; although the motors are individually replaceable with no soldering needed on this one if one dies. In the bottom however is a giant speaker that plays 2 christmas songs on a loop -- "Jingle Bells" and "We wish you a merry christmas." ![]() Close up of the board with the top removed... ![]() The X-Mas Egg has a button on the bottom to "pop out" the arms when they are all folded in. Sometimes, the plastic tabs inside get dislodged and will need to be adjusted to make this work again. ![]() The X-Mas Egg has a g-sensor controller for direction while the Santa Claus uses a more traditional style. ![]() Complete picture of everything. Inside the boxes are spare props, parts, charge cables, etc Overall, I think the Santa Claus is my favorite but that's probably because I'm looking at it from a hobbyist viewpoint. After the holidays are over, it's prime for modding, motor replacement, FPV, removing the sound, etc. The egg though has a really good -- surprisingly good 720p camera though and has a really unique form factor.
