Amazing! Unbelievable! Alien Technology! Brush on CHROME!

Just saw this. We all know about Alclad chrome, which is good stuff. But this here stuff is just amazing. Mind boggling.

Alsa Brush on Chrome Paint (2 min 27 sec)

Easy Chrome Application (No Topcoat) (2 min 17 sec)

Wow, amazing chrome finish! But the kit starts at $279, so it is not inexpensive! Wonder how many boat parts can be "chromed" with the $279 kit?

Fascinating. I have to look into that for my bike rebuilds. I'll have to wait to see if the price drops though. Most of my bikes sell for less than that price.

Yeah, the cost is for auto shop use. I sent them a message thru their contact page asking if they would consider packaging it in hobby use size bottles.

Then again, we pay as much as $4000 for a gallon of printer ink at the prices they charge for a tiny ink cartridge. I guess it's all relative.

True, but most of us don't buy by the gallon. Apart from those who got a printer modifier kit to use bulk ink, when the ink price came down to an almost sensible level.
Pricing for this stuff in hobby size bottles might be upstream of the silver loaded conductive paint sold as a window heater element repair solution. Might still be worthwhile for those wanting custom chrome trim for their Chris Craft and similar models.

Afterthought - nail varnish type bottles with the brush in the cap?

Just putting it in perspective.

Hmmmmmm... I don't know what's up, but none of their website pages will open.

The users comments are fairly negative, but its hard to say if the downsayers had actually followed the instructions. The makers are coy about the solvent for the stuff, so no real clues as to whether it would either stick to styrene or dissolve it. Or just fall off. Then there's the question of if it is long lasting enough. On fingernails, you expect a fairly hard time therefore a short life, on model boat trim it should have an easier time of it.
