Rewind Freewing 2845-3000

Regularly called 2845-3000, this motor has a label that identifies it as 2826-3000. and it is accompanied as an up-grade for any EDF of 5 and 6 blades of 70mm. which brings a 2839-2750 motor of 87 grams of weight and is used in an approximate of 500 W.
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...r&highlight=f5

to an edf of 8 blades. and which consumes 1000 watts with 4 slipo.

Changing an motor that consumes around 500 watts to one of 1000, is a good increase in weight in the motor.
Actually this motor only weighs 99.5 grams vs 87 grams of the one it replaces.

By increasing 13 grams of weight in the motor and charging it up to 1000 watts, it only makes it an extremely inefficient motor.

at 14.6 volts, 69.6A, 32,869 rpm for u Kv Effy of only 75%.

The plan is to change the kv to approximately 2720 so that it only consumes about 800 watts. a more appropriate amount for the motor.

this motor is 5,5,4 ABCx3 wind.

Is that a six magnet motor? They must do that to keep the permutation rate down some on those higher Kv motors.

yes. only 6

Stator dimentions.
22.14 x 26mm.
Slot 4.22x2.43x3.39x3.39 mm=Area 11.27mm2

Balls 10x4.4 x 4.05mm

I am working very slowly with this motor.
Work has not given time.
I have to to make a new tool to remove the stator.
And I could not rewind it with the base set in the stator.

Returning to this motor, I will try a winding with YYY termination. ABC x3, 9-9-8-9-8-9-8-9-9 turns
Inspired by an motor that I saw on the Powerdito site.

That is 9N6P right? How would you terminate that?

OK, that makes sense. And does that triple the Kv of a single ABCABCABC wind?

9 coils with 9 input wires and 9 output wires are a problem. It is easy to be wrong.

The first time, I'm a little bit wrong with the series of wires in parallel.
The second time I am again with the same problem.
The third and I'm fine. (at last)
I assemble everything and test without load.
12.45V, 2.2A, 32.844 rpm. Kv 2638

Here something went wrong. since my calculations pointed to a motor of 933x3 = 2799.
Never test the original Kv.
Anyway.

I installed it in the EDF of or shovels and tested with 3slipo.
(I am seeing that my measurements are without intake lip, surely that is why the amperage is so low and the RPM is so high)

10.99V, 25.2A, 24,725 rpm, 85.3% NLS.
But with 4 s I'll try it already mounted on the model.

Inside Airplane.
14.51V, 52.4A, 32,000 rpm, 760Watts, 83.6% NLS.
7.5 watts /g

My partial tests with the original motor and mounted on the model:

3slipo. 10.41V, 45.13A, 470 W.
4slipo, 13.59V, 69A, 938 watts.

I do not measure rpm so they do not do much good.
What is clear is that the original engine pulls amperes as a coffee heater and it sure was extremely inefficient. (as is natural with these factory combinations)

I have to look for the data I published in post 1. 32,869 rpm at almost 1000 watts.
