The Hanger

The Hanger contains (in order of preference!):
3S Avro Vulcan - my sons own design which I didn't think would work, but does! Needs a safer launch method than my hand launches though...working on that.
3S Polaris - an awesome plane, but RIP after elevator servo seized in a dive. I now need to build another version. Thanks WormBoy for alerting me to the design and Steve Schumate for sharing the plans. I have coupled aileron servos for insane maneuvers, well beyond my flying ability!
4S Durafly Spitfire Mk1a - another awesome plane. The Polaris only pips it because it is more versatile. I cannot say how impressed I am with the Durafly Mk1 - it looks good, flies superbly and I love it. I just need to learn to land it reliably.
[B]4S Gaplan by JackHeli, 3D printed and an awesome fun plane to fly. Awaiting a reprint after in-flight failure of a CA hinge (our fault, it's designed for pinned hinges!).
3S FMS Typhoon - This is a great warbird - very close to scale outline and extremely practical undercarriage. Handles strong winds well and wafts around on 3S. Repainted as ZYY with graphics by Caillie.
HK Wicked Wing - fabulous fun slope soarer.
3S Buccaneer by CLickety's Jetworks. A fantastic depron/3D printed hybrid running on two 50mm FMS edfs. And the airbrake really works!
2S E-flite Se5a This circa 2009 model is a hand-me-down and flies ridiculously well on a still day or night. Pure joy to pootle around on 3ch doing touch and goes.
3S 3DLabPrint P-38 - a clear PLA print of 'Glacier Girl', the P-38 salvaged from a Greenland Glacier and restored to flying condition. A couple of firsts here: first twin, first 3D Printed aircraft, first jointly owned plane with my son! Flies brilliantly, the guys at 3DLabPrint have done a fantastic job.
F-16 PSS conversion of the HK chuck glider this is a hoot, a really easy conversion thanks to Speedster Den on here and looks so cool in the air. Have flown it in 25kts with a lot of weight, but doesn't really maneuver like an F-16!
3S /4S Dynam Spitfire Mk9 - This was a HK bargain I think circa 2014. My first RC warbird. It had a hard start to life because my flying abilities weren't up to it. It has had some major crashes but just keeps on flying. The landing gear has been raked forward and it's been completely repainted. Have upgraded the ESC to a 70A unit and with 4S it has PLENTY of power for big scale looking maneuvers. It would go vertical oos now but I'd be worried the wings would come off and why would you fly a warbird like that anyway?!
1S Adam Woods T-70 X-wing - His own design using differential thrust and elevons. Looks amazing and is a hoot to fly. Somehow we made it too big so its a bit underpowered but it's still awesome fun and always gets attention at the park!
3S HK Skywalker Falcon - This is my second version of this plane. They are cheap and easy to fly. This one has a full set of lights fitted. Not a good choice for night-flying as there is no pitch indication! I've finally fitted FPV gear, and it's a blast.
3S HK Club Trainer - This is a really great Trainer, so cheap and no vices at all. Will cruise for 30 mins on a 2200 pack. Needs a chunk of weight in the nose to get the CoG right, but that aside, has helped 2 people to fly so far, 3 if you include me brushing up my skills!
3S HK Cloudsfly/Floaterjet - got me back into RC and has copped a real beating - including spending a good week up a tree (and losing one half wing in the process). Added magnets to hold the wing halves together and has mixed spoilerons. It doesn't help the landings much.
Speedo - a handmedown that needs a bit of tlc to get airborne again.
3S HK Jetiger EDF - I've had two of these and the current airframe has had a hard life and currently awaiting a new fin. It served it's purpose getting my son confident flying an EDF.
6S HK500 heli - got hovering this and beginning to learn forward flight before crashing badly. Heli's are hard and expensive and then I discovered the Polaris!
