It would appear he either started out with that brake full span or the T-can also may have ailerons. Reminds me of the mid 1980's when the airplanes were getting over complex with speed brakes, enclosed pipes, variable pitch props and retracts.

Does anyone know if Akiba's new Fantasista 2m is competing this year? That plane has 'split flaps' inboard of each aileron (similar to the Curare).
Perhaps CPLR was trying to add this same 'drag' feature to his plane without changing the wing?

That thing sure has constant speed down to a tee (I'm sure the guy on the throttle stick has a little to do with that, too).

Aim was to reduce speed in descents.
We will see if effective or not

Here is the website of the World Champ:
http://www.f3argentina.com.ar/

It's held in Villa Gesell, approximatively 375km south of Buenos Aires following the East cost of Argentina if you drive and 55minutes flight from BA.

Hi,
The user Finnspeed (he is on site watching the WC) over at Electric Pattern Aircraft forum at rcuniverse say this about Gernots Contra drive:

"The contra drive is made by Jeti and it works the same way as Brenner's but the gearbox part is inside the fuselage, right in front of the motor."

Source:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/elec...l#post12380438

So then there is a new player on the Contra drive scene after all.
Let see how many Contra brands we have now:
1. Brenner Contra
2. Adverun Contra
3. Ralph Schweizer Contra (RSC) for Hacker motor - is this contra still made?
4. Sebart Contra for Hacker motor - is this Contra still made?
5. Jeti Contra

Any more Contra out there for 2M planes?
Thers is a Contra drive from Japan also according to this post:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/elec...tra-japan.html

And BJ Craft had one X-Drive Contra in development - was it finished and is sold on the market?

There is also a prototype Plettenberg Contra, I have been unsuccessful finding one so far.

The BJCraft Contra is not yet available ... there is a Contra plus several single prop belt drives in the family

Seems to be a bright future for Contra drive since so many brands now.
Perhaps the competition among the brands will mean better, lighter and more affordable Contra units, and also for smaller size F3A planes.
I think it is really cool with Contra drive and they seems very reliable and perform well today. But personally I'm not ready for one yet. Maybe when they can be almost maitenance free (completely maitenance free I do not think they can be - or can they?).

Well back on track, I'm waiting for any photo on the Jeti Contra drive. Hopefully it will be some photo after the WC at least. I suspect it is some secrecy during WC about the Jeti Contra drive.
