Traxxas TRX-4 Tactical Unit

The TRX-4 was only introduced earlier this year, and Traxxas is already bringing us a protest-squashing tactical version for playing out all your SHTF rc scenarios!

The Traxxas TRX-4 Tactical Unit

Complimentary Tear Gas Not Included

The Traxxas TRX-4 is a 1/10th scale crawler that was introduced in May of this year with some pretty positive reviews. It features high-clearance portal axles, great scale looks, aluminum shocks, and a steel ladder frame. However, it didn't take Traxxas long to 1-up the Defender-series scale body with a very unique tactical build-out. The Traxxas TRX-4 Tactical Unit looks like it would be right at home on any urban warfare-inspired crawler course, ready to quell any signs of a revolution!

Standard on the Traxxas TRX-4 Tactical Unit is an adjustable wheelbase 4-link suspension system, a dual-fit battery tray that accepts a wide range of pack sizes and styles, molded floor pans to add to the scale realism and assist in keeping debris out of the running gear, and a lightweight night camo body complete with Bushwacker-style flares. The portal axles use gear drives at each hub to greatly increase torque and eliminate axle torque twist that can lift those tires right off the rocks.

The electronics package consists of the well known Titan 550 brushed motor, an XL-5 HV 3s-capable ESC, and a digital metal gear servo for increased torque, holding power, and reliability. The Traxxas TRX-4 Tactical Unit will retail for $449.99, and is scheduled for delivery in early November 2017.

That's freaking cool. The inner-fenders really add to the look.

It needs a scale figure of The Rock to go along with it.

The Traxxas Summit and the TRX-4 are two very different vehicles by design and purpose.

they put smaller tires and shifting gears on the TRX-4....
hence the 'scale' low performance.
its your $500

I would much rather put that body in a twin hammers than a summit. With that said, I'd rather run the trx4 chassis on the trails than a summit.

Lol...
I FPV'd my SUMMIT and TRX-4....

Guess what i preferred on uneven (unknown) terrain
1/4 mile away?
Which vehicle will most likely flip over?
Which is more likely to go over big unknown rocks?

KE Spins make me dizzy.
One is built for trail running, one is built for bashing. If you kept flipping the trx over, it's probably not the truck.

Your right...
I do take my SUMMIT at bike trails and hiking trails.
I have more confidence in a wider, larger truck bc
i cant FPV a smaller TRX-4 at a distance of 1/4mile+ in
unknown terrain in fear of rolling over....
ITS ALL ME, not the smaller dinky TRX-4.
I have to take lessons in driving slow.

Just remember to practice on similar terrain, and have a look on crawler specific forums for driver tips.

Driving a trail truck/crawler properly is a challenge in itself but very rewarding. FPV amplifies that challenge tenfold.

Well, the Summit is badass, this looks like a big stadium truck, meh.

It odd that this smaller TRX-4 is more expensive too!
It has all the SUMMIT's locking diff, ON/OFF 4WD....etc (same).
Its capable within' its limits, but the SUMMIT is in another league.

Traxxas pricing has got me stumped. I hope Traxxas makes
a BIGGER SUMMIT (hence the $100 less price tag)
