71% of the world is runway . .

The Devastator looks so good! Really look forward to see it airborne again.
Writing an article sure eats up time. I've been asked to write one for a dutch magazine, just takes way longer then i expected.

Cheers,

Bart

Thanks, fellas!

Bart—you aren’t kidding about the time. And I had it easy: my article was in English. Dutch would have taken me much longer

Paul, you do great work! Plane looks superb, just right amount of detail.
The paint job is perfect.
I look forward to the flight crew's arrival.

The rudder really “pops” in that light, nice job.

Thanks, y’all!

Jon—there very well may be an SBD in the future. Just not sure when. And I wouldn’t mind taking a crack at a bigger Wildcat once I get the guts to design the scale gear.

Worked on sculpting a pilot tonight. Got about 80% done. Also pulled some photos for the pilot’s telescopic sight.

Hey, look at me! I'm posting some stuff!

Well, just a bunch of odds and ends. But at least I have something to show finally.

The canopy was tacked down before the last purdy photo, but here are some pics for posterity.

Next on the punch list was to fab up that telescopic sight that we talked about awhile ago. It really stands out so it was worth some effort.

The giant antenna post got some love, too. You may recall that the original one piece cocktail stick got sheared off with the first nose over. The lower portion was replaced with a more robust steel screw inserted into an aluminum tube. But now the upper part is done--it was fabbed from a bit of telescoping tube and some basswood to slip over the stub of the lower bit. A couple of magnets hold the two parts together.

And lastly, the landing light is done. It now has a lens, and is shinier than the crappy cell phone photo below.
