80" Playboy Senior Build

I already have an 80" Playboy pylon model powered with a OS-30 four stroke. Have been trying to decide on my winter project and since I really like vintage old timers I wanted to add to my collection. Sal Taibi PowerHouse 84", 84" Quaker, 78" Lonzo Bomber. I finally decided to build another 80" Playboy this time the cabin model. Ordered a short kit from laser design and all the sticks from Balsa USA and started building. It will be a little slow - I've got till next spring to finish but want it ready when snow dissapears. Cleveland Playboy plans are for a free flight model so I'm improvising. Here' the fin with rudder detached and drilled for robart hinge pins

Awesome model . Can’t wait to see more progress.
I started a Lanzo Bomber and can’t seem to get out of the bog and make time for it. Maybe this will motivate me .

Those plans look just like the Sailplane plan. Vague... It looks like your making good progress.

I'm on Playboy 107 ,great aeroplane . I build the tail plane over the plan as you do but include the leading / trailing edges for the elevators as I go . Put a joiner bar through the centre at the stage your photo shows as well , pull off the plan , cover , and hinge with SIG easy hinge , plug onto tail plane , glue and pin hinges with tooth pic, finished . I have a storage and transport problem as well so all mine have removable rudder/fin . My next one is a cabin playboy at 105% . Will follow your thread with interest .

Separated elevator still have to shape the two edges then cut elevator in two parts to allow rudder to swing right and left.

Very clean separation on the elevator. Looks like your following KISS rules. Good progress.

Got edges on stabilizer and elevator, separated elevator and caped inside ends ready for robart hinge pins. Then on to the fuselage.

Finished whole tail assembly. Now it's on to the fuselage. I'll save the wing for last. Everything hinged and ready for final sanding and covering.

Got back from NYC Sunday Nd got back started on my Playboy. Seems like a slow process but it is a winter project and winter has arrived. 6" snow and 14 degrees. Also I'm sort of in unchartered water. I have the Cleveland plans but no instructions. Finished first fuselage side except for some final shaping on underside of tail and backside of cabin
