Horizon Hobby Indoor - Dead??

Have not heard anything more about it. Didn't happen last year but was suppose to move into a new facility for this year. Nothing said at all about it for this year and with it's normal event time coming soon, I would have to say it must have taken its final breath never to be again.

Sad how many nice events we have lost

I think they found a new place. Here's a post from the Facebook page:

Date: 10/18/17
CIFA (Hobbyland) Fly night at the Stars Indoor Sports Complex.
Here we go again! We will be having our first fly night at the Stars Indoor sports complex on Saturday evening, November 11th, from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. Address is 6124 Bush Blvd., Columbus, Ohio, located in the Continent area.
Our group will have full access to the largest field in the facility. Dimensions are 115x160 feet with a Ceiling 65’ tall. This area is primarily used for baseball and flag football, and has a turf similar to the golf dome. There is also plenty of electrical outlets for battery charging. To sum it up, it is 15’ narrower than the typically indoor soccer field, (Like the Bo Jacksons facility), but is 30’ deeper. We will be pitting along two walls and flying into the diagonal to maximize the flight envelope. There is no protective netting anywhere but tight against the walls. Facility staff will be observing our activity, and is happy that we are considering renting time segments. If all goes well, we can establish our approval and schedule this winters indoor Saturday nights. The cost for renting this facility will be very similar to what paid at the golf dome.
NOW FOR THE GREAT NEWS. HOBBYLAND WILL BE SPONSORING OUR FIRST EVENING! FLYING WILL BE FREE! The new owner of Hobbyland has been looking for opportunities to participate in local flying activities, and will have a raffle or 50-50 drawing to make thigs a little more interesting.
It has again taken considerable effort to negotiate this opportunity on our behalf. No other complexes that I have found are large enough to allow model aircraft, so we need again to approach this opportunity with the utmost care and respect. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone November 11th, and am interested in the opinions on how this facility may work out for our group. It may take a little smaller aircraft to comfortably participate, but we may very well have a place to indoor fly.
We will keep everyone posted on the Horizon Indoor web site and Face Book page of any additional indoor activities that may transpire.
Thank you from our team.
Terry Nitsch, Event Director.
