pilot rc 73" edge 540 going electric help


so im new to mounting an electric motor where a gas motor should go . so any tips tricks and how to would be great .thanks my fellow fliers

Just measure the size you need for a good cowl fit, then order some from EF or Espirit. You can buy the rest of the hardware at any Ace (or similar hardware store) that has washers & nylon lock nuts.

Im not a big fan of stand-offs as I believe they flex a bit under high energy maneuvers so I prefer to build motor boxes using plywood . Take a look at my build logs and see if they can give you some ideas.

Looks nice but WAAAAAY too much work!

I've had 20+ planes with stand-offs & have never had a problem even under XA style stresses.

(If flying is your goal, then buy the stand-offs & get out there & FLLLLLLLYYYYYY!!!)

Sometimes the scratch builder inside kicks in and I need to cut and sand some wood during the process to make it feel a bit like building and not only assembling
