Probably a noob question but this FC only makes sense with the FCHUB, right? That does make it really big and heavy though. Why would one choose this FC then?

The FC is lighter than the full size one, so should be less vibrations.
Also it's lower than the full stack

I haven't found use for the single FC without pdb.

Why can't the FC be used without the PDB? There are 4 ESC signal pads on the underside. It appears to be capable of being paired with non-Matek 4in1 ESC and wired without the ribbon cable.

I can't see why this couldn't be used without the pdb, this pic shows vbat pad on the underside of the board ?

It can be used standalone, but it is also possible to use on a full sized quad by using the pdb

It most definitely can be used stand alone, I have it mounted in a micro stack, 5v to the fc and vbat to the vbat pad I'm really impressed with the build quality and the layout of this fc. Will have to see how it fares after a few crashes ?

I believe it's a demo frame someone made, not for sale I think.

I installed the FC (flashed with latest 3.2.2 hex) on a superlight 4R frame with a spedix 30A full size 4in1 ESC and tornado 1407 motors. With the 32K gyro rate turned on, arming the quad results in the motors stuttering and not spinning up, and unstable motor throttling on the BF motor tabs. I turned off the 32K rate and the quad armed and throttled normally. Don't know if this is a defect of the board or the latest hex file. I have a second FC with the default hex and will test it out soon.
