Need a 27.xxx TX for old park flyer

I have an old 3-channel Hobbyzone Super Cub foam park flyer that I'd like to get some more use out of, but the el cheapo Tx that came with it as an RTF years ago has a bad mother board. The plane has an integrated Rx and ESC, and it is not worth trying to figure out how to swap out a bunch of the original hardware with new stuff.

Might anyone out there have an oldie gathering dust, maybe in a parts bin, and be willing to part with it? Mine is channel 4, (27.145Mhz). Yes, that is 27Mhz, not 72.... If a 27.145 is not available, another 27Mhz channel would be OK if I can get the proper crystal to swap into my Rx to match the Tx.

Someone out there may have the same or similar vintage plane that may have gotten bashed and retired, but not yet discarded. I'll appreciate any help on this. Not an important project, as I have newer planes, but I have a small park near my home that would be fine for this plane, miles closer than my club field (NW of Atlanta, GA).

Thanks for any help or leads.

Can you post a picture of the transmitter?

Edit: Sunday 10//29 Checked the hardware I have and it is channel 3 and it's not from a Super cub.

If you have the experience, and very small budget, I would buy a modern 2.4 Ghz 4-6 channel transmitter and mini receiver combo and replace old 27 Mhz gear. They can be had new for cheap or used even cheaper. Recommend Spectrum or other name brand.

I agree with E-Challenged.

If you have no plans on increasing your flying fleet, this 2.4 Ghz radio with receiver here will get you off the ground quickly, http://www.valuehobby.com/radio-syst...ky-fs-t4b.html.

It is the cheapest and reliable radio (and brand new too) available today. It is perfect for modernizing your Hobbyzone Super Cub.
