Goldguy: I like that combat wing too, but it is way too fast and too heavy for the style of combat we have in the desert. Our flying area is fairly restricted so we have to fly in close. We keep the AUW in the 5 to 6 ounce range, use fairly small motors such as the Turnigy 2730-1500, and keep the streamers at 6 feet. When fighting, all of the planes are usually within a thirty foot diameter sphere.

Sounds similar to the area I have in my front yard and cul-de-sac. The Quasar is right at home in a smaller confined area. Just happened to shoot a short hat cam video of my flight.

That blocked off rudder hinge makes for a nice build, nice work. I can't wait until we get some of these in the air!

The squared off fuselage in front of the rudder hinge is a great idea. Im going to use that on future builds.

When cutting I try to have as big scraps as possible for further projects.

I'm getting a bit concerned about my RTF weigh. The ugly side of my 1.9# 9mm is starting to show.: ( That being it's weight) Been tacking with hot glue on the long joints with the final stick done with Foam-Tac to keep the weight down. Got it all on jig for an overnight proper dry.

I might have to go with the SS 2204/1480 on 3S 500 spinning an 8X3.8. Maybe? If I get close to 3 ounces per square foot, I'll be happy.

What are you anticipating the rtf weight to come in at? 3s/500 is a lot of battery for indoor flying, outdoor flying should be fine.

Merry almost Christmas!

;-) I updated Post 31 with a tiled pdf as well as added a slot on the nose of the horizontal piece that was missed.

All the foam bits glued together are a tad over 100 grams. So, a guess at this point is a RTF weight of over 6 ounces for 2S. The 22 incher will be for outdoor and the 20 for indoor, have nice light 5mm EPP for the smaller one.

I've got the 2204/1480, 1800 and for a few grams more the 2206/1500, and an assortment of large diameter props to get the thrust I need and desire. Fluffy light and loads of thrust is always my objective, but difficult to obtain.

Maybe I'll need one of Greg's kits to get it right.

I printed the tiled version but it did not print all the pages. there is no back part of the fuselage or part of the wing. I don't think I missed anything on printer set up there is just not anything on a couple of the pages.

anyone else have any problems?
