Anyone remember the name of T. Okumura's aircraft ( cowl cheeks), at the bottom of the photo ? Quite a departure from the sleek Patricia. Vaguely remember seeing it....

The Japanese word ( コスミツク) was "Kosumituku". What ever that translated to in English I have no idea.

This Genirous has quite a few Tiporare overtones...

the nose is slightly different in the engine bay but otherwise, one could mistake one for the other.

The Maximum II in a previous picture shot in Gorizia is a model by Poyu Stephansen, I met him and his wonderful wife both in Bremen and in Gorizia, nice people, do you know them ?

Out of topic, but worth looking at
Poyu's wife with Graziano Pagni's Morris HF at 1969 Bremen held World Championship.

Mode 1

Hi guys, I'm mostly a lurker here but I have made an interesting observation. I've noticed a few transmitters with the throttle on the right stick in what I would assume to be Mode 1. I'm wondering if this was the norm for the Japanese flyers in the 70's and 80's and if other countries used Mode 1. The reason I ask I have been happily flying Mode 1 since 1973. Back when I started Mode 1 was the dominate transmitter configuration here in west Michigan but over the years our numbers have been reduced to a small handful.

Great thread by the way.
