Thanks Dean,
For posting this early.
It gives us better time for planning and bringing a team together from several corners of the country.

What classes are you planning on having for GPS ?

The GPS Triangle portion of the Montague Glider Festival will become the 1st "US GPS Triangle Nationals". We will do our best to make this an event to remember. Facebook folks can go to USA GPS site for more info.

This GPS triangle racing for scale gliders looks extremely entertaining, also incredibly expensive. Apparently, European RC pilots are a lot better healed than the average American! Not many of us care to invest ~10 grand in a model. Has anyone discussed supporting a class for smaller, more reasonably priced, scale gliders -- say quarter and fifth scale? I suppose they could fly in sport class, but it might be tough for a small scale sailplane to compete with F3J and F3B ships. Such a scale class might help generate more interest in GPST competition.

The issue with a smaller glider is visibility at the turnpoints. You can certainly enter a smaller than 1/3 scale glider.
There are many choices that are quite reasonable. The Hangar 9 ASW 20 comes to mind as a great candidate and in fact competed at the World Masters.

Good deal. I was under the impression that 1:3 scale was a requirement.

Visibility-wise, smaller gliders would probably have to be operated at lower altitudes, except for those lucky pilots who seemingly possess "binocular vision."

DLG XC - that's sounds like a kick! Combine it with unicycles, and no cars are needed. Are there rules posted somewhere?
