Have you tried wax for the parting line
I'm getting ready to do some wing molds for a 60 inch and am debating on using wax and I have been thinking about putting pva on before I do the seam to get away from the pooling around the seam area .
What do you think Joe??

I haven’t tried wax yet but I know it works just don’t know to what level you can get a nice tight seam line. I’m not a gamble so it’s hard to come off of what works. try it on something small first!

Super hard and flat seal

Got the second and final coat on and razor bladed out and when it cures I will pop the fuse out gingerly and block sand the cabosil flush with the parting board. Then detail the plug and do final polishing and another coat of wax (PTMW) goood stuff and wax the parting board. Then place the fuse back in the mold and foam brush on a nice thick and even coat of PVA and pop it in the warm box at 90 degrees for ten min and there will be no bubbles.
Then it is ready for the surface coat which I will be using Jeffco black tooling resin. Let it tack up and then fiberglass starts going on starting with some lighter glass and moving up to medulium glass then onto the heavy cloth.
Cheers

Parting board and seal is Done!

Itís ready for PVA and layup! NOTmy favorite part doing the parting board and seal but it is behind me and the good part is you only need it one time per mold!!
Now all I need is a 4-5 hr session and the first have will be done and they that sit for a day or so then repeat for the other side.
Cheers to progress

Boring for sure but details make for good parts!
Like watching paint dry but the good stuff is ahead
And I look forward as you do for the actual usable parts that we can build and fly!

How is the mold coming along? About how long is the fuse. Hard to tell from the pictures.

It's "normal size", tail to nose is 32", The standard span is 46" same as most of the other PSS/Fakefest builds.
