Vac bagging tubing

I'm setting up my first Vac Bag setup.
What flexible tubing will work that won't collapse under vacuum?

Thanks Ian.
Are you talking about the stuff used for drip watering systems?

Hi Al,

I use the cheap, generic, ubiquitous, vinyl tubing of various diameters for vac bagging. Found in any hardware store worth it's salt.
It never collapses.
Nothing special.
Also, I have used this successfully for vacuum resin infusion which requires as near absolute vacuum as one can achieve.

standard 6mm air line and fittings always works a treat

myday.. myday
Standard water hose I get from the hardware store in the "boat" section is pretty solid and stiff, I prefer to use a vacuum hose from the "car" section - it is thicker but in rubber so it's more flexible. I use a brass tube in the end (in to the bag) to prevent it from closing. Proper composites tubing is really stiff inflexible plastic but I prefer what I get from the local hardware store if it works alright.

Yes, me too! As I said above, I use the generic clear vinyl tubing. Just repeating, I have pulled this type down to near absolute vacuum (29.xxxx inches) without it collapsing.
The cylindrical shape prevents collapse under vacuum.
You may be overthinking this Al.
I am inclined to to do the same sometimes!

I couldn't get the clear tube in 4mm to fit the vac meter but managed to get something similar which should work.
I'm currently working my 15th 12+ hour day straight so no progress.
Planning Friday,Sat,Sun off so hopefully I'll grt a bit done then.
