I had mine out today too. My new Pulse 800's came in. There was definitely something wrong with the other batts I bought because I landed after 5 minutes and checked them and they were barely half used. I'm glad I sent the other ones back. I briefly thought about flying in the snow because the one park with the big parking lot was gated up, but ended up going to my last resort flying spot because the UMX AC is too new to take a chance with yet. I take it you had no problems with the snow touch and go's?

No problems at all on the snow....a smaller version of the Twin Star !
Been flying wheels-off on grass since new with a laminated the bottom and wing tips.
Flying Venom 800's and they work well.

Paul, looks fantastic!

Here's a pic with the lens cover installed - the LE cutout was lined with paper backed foil.
Reflections are about half as bright as the LED, very cool.

Can't seem to get a decent shot with the LE lights on, just too bright!

Happy Landings!

That looks really good Stiffler, I was planning on doing the landing lights on the wing too as I do on my bigger planes but since this one was so thin I decided on the engine nacelles.
I do prefer on the wing and you really did a good install and notice that you use a different kind of LED like on the Led Strips.

Looks like it will be a while for my next flight as we are now getting lots of snow and the much colder temp.
Not sure how cold those tiny servos can take so I wont risk it in too much cold.

Paul,

Looking good!

I soldered up a few more 3S 320s this morning.
Christmas gift to self.

Got to fly in early morning fog.
20°, calm & awesome!

Hope you AC lovers are getting out there in-spite of the weather.

Nice little fleet there
I see a Little Pitts , I'm getting one this week too
But not sure about flying those little UMX in real cold here now , just worried about the tiny servos.

Paul,

The cold seems to be nothing to worry about with these UMX servos.
I fly year-round and often.
That Pitts has been with me for many years.
Probably 1000+ (3S) flights on it.

That's good to know, the average temp here already is 10'F, sometime a bit warmer on a nice sunny day

Thanks Paul, I agree!

The UMX Timber set looks fantastic with the strobes and 2 red flashers - finally met my expectations.

Well, enough posts (from me), about the lights - hope to post a vid later in the week.

Best,

Best,
You have every right to be proud of that project! Wing lights look awesome! Look forward to a video....even if it's a 10 second walkaround!

The calm, frozen fog conditions continue...
Love flying in fog because it's always calm!
The trick is keeping your hands warm.
I can't stand to fly with anything on or around my hands.
I keep Little Hotties in my jacket pockets and jump in my truck from time to time.

The more I fly the AC, the more I like it.

Thank you
I will have 3 sets of props in different colors.
My third set will probably be chrome and red spinners
