Even the servo arm screws are beefier.
Promodeler on the left, standard on the right.
Only .019 but bigger is bigger.

Drilled out my MPI arms to accommodate the beef.

Had a transmitter malfunction. All of the sudden when I held the rudder to either side and ran the throttle up and down, the rudder would shake.
tried several planes and it did it on all of them.
Sent it in and I have it back now. Works great again.

Here is my 2S LiPo placement.

Velcro under both the R\X and pack. The zip ties are more or less just a seat belt.

Probably over kill, but the servo arms I bought had 4-40 threads for the linkage.
The ones provided in the kit seemed to be "Flexy" anyway.
Soooo, yeah.

I give you my elevator push rod. Plan on doing the same for the ailerons.

All set up and ready for maiden.
Just need some packs. I have some old 6S 3300s from 2013 but I am going to order 3700s soon.

Now I think I need the 100" big brother of this airframe.

That is one pretty airplane. I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot. But hey, treat yourself. The 74" Slick is a real honey of a plane. You could have that one in Red/White/Blue and then work your way up to the 100".

I love the way the plane looks also. I bought it to throw in the Tahoe to fly through the week.

74", I will always have a spot in my heart for a good 35cc plane.
However, I also have their red, white, and blue 88" Edge with a DA-70 in it. This thing is solid. Crankshafts and blenders all day!
20 years in the hobby and after flying several 35% planes, its time for one of my own.

PSB,

If I'm reading right and that's an 800mAh lipo, how many flights are you planning per charge? I started with a 910mAh 25C, and one flight brings it down to 4.0 per cell, which could probably stand one more flight. But I ran one more flight, and telemetry showed the voltage coming down to a min of 3.6-3.7v per cell (ending the flight at 3.9v), and I figured I was starting to push the battery with that second flight especially with crankshafts and pop tops. Nowadays I fly one flight with those 910 packs.

I added an 1100mAh 30C lipo to the mix, and that one flies two flights just fine, never dropping below 3.8v on the second flight.

F.S.

Edit: running ProModeler 160's

It is indeed an 800. I was going to check it after one flight and see how it held up. I have the same DS160 servos in this one. Since those little LiPos were fairly inexpensive, I did pick up 4 of them as one of the fields around me lacks AC power.
Looks like I will be swapping them out every flight just as you are. No biggie at all and THANKS for the heads up!

A bit late to reading this thread. That transmitter failure is a strange one, but I'm glad it ended well. Using small LiPos and swapping them out after one or two flights is a very sound strategy for folks flying aggressive 3D. Mere mortals are probably well served with a larger pack suitable for as many flights as they'll make in the day with the air frame, e.g. most especially those who take two or even three models to the field. Anyway, LiPos as compared to NiCds have such an advantage in energy density it's ridiculous! And we'll see the day when the advantage doubles from here!

Nicely done!
It's also reassuring to see the LG undercarriage looks pretty much unscathed.
