F1B is ok.
I have build two early german rubber-models. One red and one blue like the kits from Graupner. All decals are cut out from 12gr. Japan-Tissue. It was a lot of difficult work.

Hello Heinz,

They look just great....a good alternative to print on the balsa...

What glue did you use...?...or did you dope on the tissue...?

I want to try this..!

Hello Gluehand, I have used "Glutofix" ( Glue for wallpaper). I have made many experiments. The best resault is you give the balsa 3 of 4 coats of wallpaper glue (thick) and then glue on the tissue only with water through the tissue with a soft brush.

( I hope you can understand this. )

Thanks Heinz!
This generated a few more questions:

Just traditional waterbased wallpaper glue...? you brush the entire balsa sheet, or just where the paper is applied...?

As the balsa gets wet, do you put it under press when drying to prevent warpage...?

The result is worth the effort.
It looks good.

Yes, waterbased wallpaper glue. Brush on the whole sheet after drying the sheet is straight. Put the dry tissue on place and glue it on with water.

These are simple free-flight planes made from foam plates, 2-3 plates per plane. I use a 40 mah LiPo and Air Hogs Havoc tail motor to power them. The rushed sharpie design is more for visibility than anything.

All of them fly, and can be made in about 20 minutes, mostly through, "well... that looks about right."

Don's workshop

Hi All,
We are new to RC and even newer to free flight - as in I saw my first one just last week at an indoor fly.

The gentleman flying his beautiful models was Don Butman
A great guy and a craftsman.
He was kind enough to invite us to his workshop and I took a few pictures.

Mureaux 180-C2 that I purchased from him

My idea of a beautiful space:

And I know there is more than one of you who feels this way:

More HERE if you want to see.

Happy Landings

I have got the plans for a 34' or 36" span, freeflight, Supermarine S6b seaplane, for rubber or electric. See here:-

The plans are full size and very detailed, in two sheets, including full size patterns for the fuse and float formers.

I am happy to make them available for the cost of re-printing and postage world wide, rounded to $25.00

PM me if interested, or ask questions on this thread.
