A scaled-down (linearly, not structurally) "Tomboy" - published Aeromodeller, June 1954 to be precise. Of course, the picture would speak more than a thousand words ....

There is another one under the 'Tomboy' thread, but for some reason this shot would not go on. Will take another and try later. You going to build one Jim????
l have had 2 off them, lost the first one 20 years OOS with a red tank Cox TD 010 in it.
They would now make great little simple to build and trim models with electric.

There is a black tank Cox 010 for sale in the engine section. Ran once.

Here's one to whet your apetite: an Ed Lidgard Hi-Ho Wakefield. Those who know me from SFA and FFML have already seen this, but the rest of you can enjoy it. Weight is 3 1/4 oz without motor. It's got a 14" folding prop.

That gorgeous thing in the background is the plane I took my private checkride in. What a long time ago that was...Well, ok, only 2 years, but almost 200 hours ago in flight time!

Whoops, the prop shown there is the old one; it's an R/N 15" SBF.

Nice one that HI-HO, and nice colours too. Nice part of the world too, was in NC a couple of times and would go to Charleston for the weekends. Could NEVER find any F/F activity there though. George Perryman (now passed) was in Georgia but was too far to 'touch base'. Can you fly it at the airport????? The HI-HO that is.

OK I'm convinced - for me it'll be the KeilKraft "Ace". I can still remember the comment shouted across the field when the rubber motor went

Free-flight-scale 1949

Miles M35b Libellula........own design.......30" span.......sticks and tissue.......Allbon Dart diesel........flew well.

In 1949, lightweight radio control was an impossible dream.

Why, in 2005, anyone should want to fly scale models without control, is beyond my comprehension.

I've got a couple worth posting on here..

This is a Coupe de Ville that I built about 12 years ago from a Blue Ridge models kit. I have to say it was the best kit I have ever built from. Wish there were more quality kits like it.

A big Korda that I recently bought at a swap meet in the condition you see. Needs some covering patched, but other than that everything about the model is in great condition. Great flying model.
Wish I had a picture of it with me or someone holding it to show the size. Those of you familiar with it know how big it is.
