Free Flight rubber flyer

Here's my latest, a 16" Strato Streak This is my first electric model...quite good, too, seeing as how it flew right off the board. Best flight is 55 sec, which I'm happy with considering that it's powered by nothing more than a little capacitor.

Thank you the kind words guys! Yep Jet, you are right: the I-16 is the 16" version from H“Ds. He send me the plan some years ago, I started to build as per plan, but got some warps in the fuse. So I decided to build another, with laminated formers, just as a lab. I will explain briefly here: the formers are made with 2x 1/32x1/16 soft balsa, around several foam discs. Then the formers are lite fixed in a jig, marked to positioning the formers in the right place. Then the strings are glued.

The wing mount have not too much instructions in the plan, and because the fuse is little different from the plan, I just did it "in the air"... I'll put some pics soon.

Hiya Finn! I saw it in the FreeFlightML, very well done! I'm interested in the capacitors powered models.

Bell 47G and Decathlon

The heli has a 26" rotor and the Decatlon has a 16" wingspan. Both are currently freeflight. Balsa, Paper and Foam construction.

Nice stuff Mario!

I did a search through some of your threads - you have an amazing difference in approach to the run-of-the-mill modellers like me. Very interesting to read and take in.

Thanks.

Pretty models Mario! Is the heli based in the "Penni Copter"?

Like Tony says "a difference in approach" that is
refreshing. How are the models powered, particularly
tthe heli?
More, more please.

Thanks Tony and Flight. They are powered by rubber used for FF airplanes.

Flying these things indoors
what sort of flight times do
you experience with the rubber
powered versions in, say; a
normal basketball sized gym?

Miranda seaplane.

Miranda seaplane from 1955 Aeromodeller mag. be Peter Holland.

Has a Wenmac .049, was built in 1971, and has had hundreds of flights off both land and water----ROWs beautifuly. Big tank, and in the middle of a big lake very early in the morning would freeflight for about 10 minutes.

In it's early days it tended to be unstable, so I 'broke' the wings 1/2 way out and gave it polyhedral----fixed it right up.

Korker.

Korker from 1951 Airtrails mag by Ken Willard & Keith Storey. 36in span.

This one built a few years ago has a Cox TD .020 in it, and of course flys.

Looks like a C/L Team Racer, because as some will know Keith Storey helped to get Team Race started in the 40s in the USA.

Hey Gossie, I'd heard that you had a Korker!

I built a "Moses" in my youth, very like Miranda, and I'm sure it would be great for electric f/f - anyone remember this pretty model?

Yes, I know it---have the plan in the Aeromodeller mag.

Way back in the 70s one of the guys in the VFFS (Victorian Free Flight Society) in Melbourne had one.

Can't really remember it flying, but I guess it would. Little smaller than Miranda.

And you know I have a Korker. LOL. Just behave now, my good man.
