Placehoder: Legends California Cracker Box

Hi All, Second thread and second boat build

I've built a lot of different things over the years but boats are a new and recent excitement. Reading on here for a while, I have fallen in love with the Legends boats.... and about a month ago I called up Rich and placed the order. My new baby is teasing me at the moment - seems she is on a bit of a world tour. Hoping this kit arrives soon as I hope to also fit in a Miss Behave build over the winter.

It's just picking up all the various wood eating insects from around the world, haha. Man that is crazy. A lot of jet fuel being burned by that box!

DAVE- Think of it this way, you now are going for the record for a model boat with the most miles under its keel on its maiden voyage.

Please post here when you finally get your package.

Welcome Aboard Dave

The Crackerbox is a very nice boat. Have one built already and another one in the box waiting to be built. Do I smell a build log? I did one for Legends Thunderbolt kit and the support I got from the guys here was fantastic. Keep us in the loop, Californiakid

It's arrived! After travelling 59,639km to get here (1.5 times around the planet - anyone else got that kind of mileage on a Legends boat?), its finally here!

The USPS made several errors on the shipping label which is connected to the bar code - they misspelled my street, city, and listed the country as Swaziland.
The shipping label that Rich (frankg) made was perfect, but the USPS decided to just change everything, giving the kit a world tour this summer before finally the SwaziPost corrected the mistake and generated a new label to get it here.

Special thanks to Rich for chasing the USPS until they finally fessed up. The kit has arrived and everything looks great.

I've started unboxing ... more to come once I get started.

After spending an hour or so reading the instructions, re-reading frankg's build thread, and getting familiar with all of the parts, it was time to dive in!

Great kit this is, quite straight forward, plenty of materials to work with, and goes together quite nicely. I've got about 5 hours of actual build time in the boat now, and its currently gassing out after the interior was coated with 100g of Eposeal 300. I'm a huge fan of the Gurit products. The Eposeal 300 is incredibly thin; it's ability to soak in and penetrate is greater than anything else I have tried. On this boat I'll use Eposeal 300, SP320, and a 2k clear for the topcoat, same as I did on the Miniwerft boat.

How she stands at the moment...
