I don't have and have never seen a GT M530 in person, but I can say my Kopis is pretty amazing for efficiency and air time (when I take it easy). Very happy with it!

One thing I did for better range was get the RX antennas up on top of the cage, like bug antennas. I was getting low RSSI with them down off the arms. But if you're really going for long range, you'd probably swap in Crossfire anyway. I also use a right angle VTX antenna most of the time. Both of those seem to help with longer-range, I think the antennas out the back and off the arms works fine for closer-in racing.
Thanks for this information. You are swinging me toward pulling the trigger on this thing. I bet with an 1800 or 2000mah one could probably see 12-15mins of cruise time.

Has anyone tried tmotor f60 pro vII (2207) or the tmotor f80s (2408) on the kopis?
Thinking of turning the kopis into an all out power machine!

Maybe, the biggest I have is a 1600 Truepower. On a 1550, I usually draw about 1250mAh out before landing (I only draw down to 3.5V per cell min). having an extra 250mAh from an 1800 should perhaps give another 2 minutes, so yeah, 10-12 minutes maybe based on the way I cruise.

I would think at some point the extra weight of the battery would start to eat into the efficiency, but not sure where that balance tips. An 1800 R-Line is 12g heavier than the 1550...

Has anyone tried 5s on the kopis with the standard motors?

Try it! They're only a low kV, running in 5s would make them 3000kV 4s equivalent. If you're worried try set you throttle curve with with maximum at 80-90%

Range problem

Hi,
I'm having range problems since I got the Kopis 1. I have used a Spektrum DX6i and a DX8 with a Spektrum receiver.
I have tried different antenna positions. But the Kopis has dropped from the sky several times. Every time I saw the 'RX Lost' message in the screen.
Tried a second receiver too. Same problem.
Is there some radiation form the Kopis that interferes with the receiver?

I have never had problems with wings. So I don't think there's a problem with both transmitters.

I placed my receiver on top of the Kopis and not in between the upper and lower plates. Some receivers are designated "long range" and others not so much. Which receiver(s) do you have?

I've got the Spektrum SPM4648 DSM X Quad Race
I placed mine on top too.

Did you do a range test with the Kopis sitting on the ground and walking away from it with the transmitter in the range test mode? Did you lose signal? Wonder if you have a broken antenna?? Do you have the antenna sticking up away from the CF frame? Just how far away are you flying, no further than with your winged planes, right? I'm a newbie to drones so can't tell you much....
I think there are some fail-safe settings in Betaflight that will cause your drone drop out of the sky under certain radio conditions but you may have to dig around to find out what they are. Don't give up! <;-)

Lol thanks, I'm not giving up :-)
Yes the range test seems oke.
Both antenna's look fine. I put them as far as possible from the carbon. The FS seems to kick in about 100m, or sometimes even closer.
In Betaflight I use fail-safe to drop the quad. But BF only does that when the receiver triggers the FS.
