This is what I have come up up with over the years. Most of my planes fit in the garage and I can even park my souses car in the garage if needed.

so my goal is to keep my Wings on, i have a SUV so i can fit my airplanes as a whole. the hanging idea is awesome. i cant really see how the airplane is held with the string on the plane it self. How are you holding the plane with the string from the ceiling? I will end up doing that

A hook and a wall anchor. The Seabart (the one hanging over the attic) is directly into wood so I did not need a wall anchor. The others including the Laser 230Z I use wall anchors so the plane does not pull right out of the drywall. I hang super light planes from the ceiling. The Laser 230Z is really light even though it looks fairly big. Normally I hang my 31 inch wingspan EPP planes from the ceiling.

A picture of the hook I use and a few photos of how I store my wings. I made wing holders.

These (z-rack-n-stack) work really nicely. Get the widest one so that the tail feathers fit through.

I have hung cattle panels from the ceiling in my shop. Cattle panels are usually 52"x16' welded 1/4" steel wire on 8" centers. Usually cost about $20. Set them high enough to be able to walk under them.

Foamies can be compactly stored in a 55 gallon drum filled with Acetone

Good idea with those foamies. I find that there is no one best way. Each plane needs some customization for hanging from the ceiling. Planes that I transport with wings on, I of course store with the wings on too. If I have to take them apart, it is more convenient to store wit wings off, but it's often harder to do it this way, and doesn't look as nice.

These aren't my images, but this is how I do it.

Super cheap. Each 4' welding rod is ~$3. Just bend them and hang it on a hook. For foamies, I put a bit of foam pipe insulation over the wire so it doesn't leave intentions on the foam if the plane sits for a while.
