Lol yess just having some fun, you want 6S for 5-7 mins anything else is dead weight for racing, unless sport running for 12 to 15 mins.
I recall when they first hit 10,000mah / and was thinking full size manned use then. Not long to go there will be 20,000 mah packs. |

As mentioned i am just waiting on some hardware / parts so i can start fitting the Tub out with the goodies In the meantime i am going to use this Strut and Rudder as i have a couple in stock so i may as well use them like i have done with the previous JAE 21 / fe,s.
The Strut measures 2- 3/8 inches top to bottom and its 2 inches deep , so if you don,t use the ZippKits Strut [ page 30 ] This Strut will work fine as long as you add a 1/2 inch block between the Transom and Strut Bracket to make up the needed clearance out from Ski. i will show pics of this set up when i get to Strut Fitment. The Rudder measures 3-3/4 inches long [ top to bottom ] by 1-3/4 inches deep with bracket., Rudder Blade width is 3/4 inches wide. |

I have Taped the Ski onto Tub Bottom just to check the 3 x Running Surfaces of this Hydroplane to make sure all 3 points which are both sponsons ends and ski end are all sitting pefrectly flat on the table . If the Ski End is not dead flat on table you can now trim the side that needs trimming so all becomes flat and parallel , as mentioned previously Do Not Glue the Ski on yet, this Must be done after the Brass Shaft Log is fitted with the Strut etc.
Also if you are going to use the no ZippKits type Strut and use something like in above pic , this is the Timber Block you need to use to get correct distance of Strut to Transon / Ski. 1/2 inch thick plywood , i used 2 x 1/4 inch pieces glued together. will show more soon. ps; Pick of Ski Rear looks to be wonky but its not. |

The ply came in for the sponsons, template made will be working on it this weekend.
I have been enjoying the build log Ron, look forward to seeing it on the water. Here is a good example with a 220A esc. 2,600 kv motor / 3,300mah 4S

Yes Brad, the new JAE/33 can be fitted up with a large 4082 size can motor plus 6s battery power also theres enough space in the Tub for the largest size esc.

The power set up that will be going into this JAE / 33 will be a 3650 - 2350 kv motor / 180 amp esc and a 5800 - 65c - 4s battery. Props to test will be stock H6 / H7 / 1450 ZippKit Mod.

The JAE riggers are easy to push, I question the neeed for a 40 mm motor. Not that you can't use one, but it may not be required to go very fast. The world's fastest 4S rigger ran a TP3650 motor with a fast pass of 141 mph, pretty good credentials IMO.
Personally I'd try an ABC 1816-17-45 prop, more efficient than the H series. . |
