Hawk 1m DLG from HQ models _ Nikolay Gorban

It's a very nice DLG. I would say it's a little Snipe by the look and the feel.
I got it from Nikolay Gorban, he manufactures this small DLG. Thank you again!

Servos was already installed, 4x ECO PICCO 8 from
https://www.lindinger.at/de/rc-elekt...metallgetriebe
Servos are pretty good for the price, centering is not perfect, but I can live with that.

I used small 4ch FrSky Rx from Bangood (https://www.banggood.com/2_4G-4CH-Mi...l?rmmds=search) and 200mAh Turnigy lipo from HK.
Space is limited inside fuselage, but with careful planning it can be fitted with necessary gear.

Wing and fuse are very strong. I can see it will be a high launcher.

I love the shape of the nosecone, its just perfect design.
I can take this little Hawk every time I go on a trip, it takes so little place in car. Wings can be easily unhooked from push rods, and reinstalled the same way back.

RTF weight is ~140g for this glass version. It feels feather light in hand.

I will try to put some more info and flight videos in upcoming days.

This little bird flies so beautiful. It launches high as Snipe
I spent 2h today testing this piece of art, and enjoyed every moment.

Hawk light

Many thanks to Nikolay Gorban for this kit!
123g RTF weight

Very nice model. Lightweight. Glass/carbon version.
Fuse 17g Carbon, wing 57g glass, tails 3.5g & 3.3g glass.

Although fuse is carbon, nose part is glass so it is 2.4gHz friendly.

I used Emax ES9051 4.1g servo for ailerons, and Waypoint w-038 3.4g servo for tails. Flying on 1s 400mAh lipo.
First I used ES9251 for tails, but those 2.5g servos won't work good with spring pull elevator and rudder, too small torque, servos start to "scream" and go wild. Not good idea to put them!!!!
I had many doubts putting them, but I saw one build of another rcGroups member who used 4 these 2.5g servos, so decided to try.

Better option BBird BMS 101DMG, which I saw on one of Nikolay builds, or D47=Ripmax SD100.

This Emax ES9051 4.1g servos work nice for ailerons, tight fit, but they fit inside.
Max servo height should not be above 28mm in my opinion. Chose something bellow.

Short video of flight.

Have you tried the BBird bms101? They have an analog version (AMG) and a high voltage version too (HV)

I hear mixed reviews but have hope for them as they would prob fit well.

Waiting for a Hawk myself. Look forward to it.

Nice, I would love to see your build.

I haven't tried Blue Bird bms101 yet. Regarding max dimensions - 26.6 mm wide x 7.6 mm thick x 19.5 mm high - they should fit inside without any problem. So far best option regarding torque, dimensions and weight + they are MG.

I've been looking also at Hitec HS40, small little servo with decent torque, only 10$.
https://servodatabase.com/servo/hitec/hs-40

Better option, is Hitec HS35HD. Only the price is double the HS40.

The hs-35 looks great except for this review I read:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...-vs-Dymond-D47

However, perhaps the two samples he had were not great.

The hs-35 are compact and the gears more durable than say the dymond d47. Smaller than the d47.

specs look good

There is an analog version of the Blue Bird servo, BMS-101AMG. It's a little cheaper and uses less power than the digital version. Maybe it is less precise than the digital version, I don't know?

I wish MKS still made the Nuke 3

I never had any but the specs look good.

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/mks-nuke...cro-servo.html

I would not mind paying for a quality servo provided they endure much longer.

Seems like a 1m ship is on the edge of cheap servo that is too weak or imprecise and quality servo that is too big or lil bit too heavy? I'll just have to try some to find out.

I'm not as bad as they say.
I have stripped the gears on every HS35HD I've put in a DLG, all in 1 meter planes.
I would not use them in a DLG.
I suggest KSTX08 or BSMSA10's for ailerons, and d47's for rudder and elevator.
That's what is in mine.

Wow! Good to know.

Maybe i won't be trying the hs35... were they on the ailerons or rudder or elevator?

The bms-a10's look nice.
