Motors beat engines!
I charge mine at 2C max in field and at home 1/3rd c.

So far so good.

clchen: Welcome to Ezone! You gots questions, we gots dumb looks for ya.

2C is twice capacity of the cell. 2C of a 1600=3.2 amps but with the AA Nimhs, common knowlege is no more than a 2 amp charge. They won't like much more than that and will overheat. I charge all my NiMh packs at ~1.25C and have had good luck with them at that rate. What kind of charger are you using?

The recommended maximum charge rate from the manufacturers is 1C...1600mah = 1.6A.
See the following for all the poop...

Goto application manuals...then Nickle metal hydride.

Good Luck

I have the FMA SuperNova.

For all the above charge rate you recommand how many hours did you charge your battary?

If set at 1.6 amps with an empty pack, you should have a charged pack in about an hour or less. The charger should automatically shut off when the pack is fully charged.

I charge my Sanyo 1600 8 cell packs at 2C (about 3 amps) and have not had any problems. These things go and go on my Speed 400 planes.
