Micro Aerial Vehicles

I just came across an article in GPS World that many may find interesting. It looks like a ZLOQ & Co-Pilot on steroids. Here's a link to the story:

Very nice... I was thinking of making something like that for my science fair, but I guess that's no longer an option...

Mabee eventually we can just take off from our driveways and switch to auto pilot and let the plane just go and shoot the pictures while we
watch a movie or something. Might need to be powered by a fuel cell or something, but we americans like everything to be automatic.

Daniel if you could do that for a science fair, I'm sure you would win prizes. Concidering that these guys are either PhD or candidates. It's just a matter of how you structure your hypothesis & test. You can even win if you prove your hypothesis is false.

It is interesting that the GPS system does not provide quick enough response for altitude information. So they are using a barometric sensor. This is the same method that MX uses on his zlog.

I am guessing this plane will cost a little more then a slow stick.

Consumer GPS isn't very accurate in altitude.
