Mini-Review

Lishitoys L6059 Foldable, Low CG Stability, 720p HD FPV, Obstacle Avoidance Drone

This very unusual looking drone is extremely stable due to its very unusual design, and includes a nice 720p HD FPV camera with remote controlled lens, and obstacle avoidance. Find it here in Red or in green here, and use coupon code rc180ff

and here is its flight demonstration
Lishitoys L6059 Foldable 720p HD FPV Obstacle Avoidance Drone Flight Test Review (17 min 41 sec)

Pros
- Foldable quadcopter for portability. All arms easily extend upward.
- Very low center of gravity provides extremely stable flight.
- Altitude hold and headless mode.
- Very nice 720p camera with remotely controlled up and down lens. Records directly to a microSD card. Camera includes WiFi FPV.
- Can be controlled either via its traditional controller or its LS_Drone app available on Google Play here or iTunes here.
- Includes obstacle avoidance sensors
- Replaceable 3.7V 900mah battery gives flight time of over 8 minutes.

Cons
- Although stable in flight, it's quite unstable in landing and will tilt for just about all landings. Fortunately the motors stop automatically if obstructed to lessen chance of damaging the motors.
- Not an acrobatic flier at all. Mainly intended as a selfie camera quadcopter.
- Some jello and WiFi lag.
- IR obstacle avoidance doesn't work well outdoors due to sunlight interference.

One very unusual quadcopter indeed! Cool to see an effort has been made to come up with something different! And I have to say that the idea is pretty smart. Love how you can point the camera up and down, although the AWB changes a lot in the process. Also quite a pity the right landing-leg is in the frame all the time, more so when you tilt the camera down. IQ seems okay if it wasn't for the jello, despite those dampening balls which is a real pity. Maybe some rudimental prop balancing could improve on that. Maybe instead of landing, you just grap this one out of the sky

Grabbing it would probably be the best option, as a perfect landing on its legs would likely be a 1 in a 100 chance

BTW: on the GB website they kinda show you can detach the landingfeet ('legs' is stretching it a bit).

But then again that site also shows a USB socket where you pointed out the card slot.

Yes they do slide off as shown. But they're wrong about that being a USB socket. It's a microSD card slot for recording video and images.
