Curtis Youngblood Rave90ENV - 700 Electro with Align 800MX

I got My Rave90ENV a week ago or so. ENV means its frame take both Electro And Nitro, and i will do both. So the Electro setup will come here, then my Rave90ENV with ASP91 Nitro who will be converted to gasser will be posted in Nitro Heli HERE

I just ordered Align 800MX 440KV for the electro version of this heli

The general setup for the heli in both power setup is:

Cyclic servos X3 : JX PDI-6221MG
Tail Servo: JX Servo PDI-6208MG
FBL: Full size Kbar ( for gov on Gasser version)
RX: Going to test out a 8CH FD1000 Receiver Long Range with sbus and telemetry support on a 500 first, not shure yet if i use this or i get one of my good old FrSky V8FR-II

RX/fbl power: 2 x 3.2V 3200mAh LiFePO4, I will built this 2s package with 2 single round LiFePO4 with IN4007 Rectifier Diodes to get voltage at 6v

Electro setup:
Esc: YPG 120 hv
Lipos: 2x6s 5000 as 12S

More update and photos soon

BA,

The 1N4007 is only rated at 1 A, maybe i'm wrong, but it isn't enough to power the servos...

Hi Daniel, thanks for the info, i have no experience with 1N4007, i found the solution in Rcexl single ignition as solution to get as near 6v as possible, LiFePO4 is listed with 3.2v. First solution im thinking of is use 2 leads from cells, one with diode for ignition and one without for rx, servos and kbar.

BA,

I think you need a BEC, because the servos has a Umax = 6V.

Brand:JX
Item:PDI-6221MG 20KG Large Torque Digital Standard Servo
Dead band: 2μs
Working frequence: 1520μs / 330hz
Operating Speed (4.8V): 0.18 sec/60
Operating Speed (6V): 0.16 sec/60
Stall Torque (4.8V): 17.25 kg.cm (239.55oz/in)
Stall Torque (6V): 20.32 kg-cm (281.89 oz/in)

We need pics!

Yes, they should be ok...
A Little off topic, overvoltage in brushless motors isn't a problem, you can use a 4S motor with 6S however should be give a close look to the current. Or it burn out.

Yes i readed many uses 2s lifepo4 on 6v servos. Its also said the 6v limit is counted as 5x NiCd who have a max 7.2 when fully charged. I also see some uses 2s lipo direct on 6v servos, i would maybe not do that, but 2x lifepo4 im fine with.

This is by the way my first 12s setup.. All my other large helis are 6S and on bec

Just a suggestion.. Unless you already have the servos why not go the HV servo route? These days they arent much if any more expensive, but they make powering the electronics much easier as you can just use a bog standard 2S LiPo.

I never use anything but HV servos these days, it just seems to be the way servos are going.

Here is some new photos and some update. Im also planed to fly Rave as gasser, but first it will fly as electro. Got most ready now, main head and tail is serviced and new bearings in bladeholders so all will be smooth.

They had a gasoline version of the Rave? I thought it only came in electric and nitro?
