Redcat Racing 1/8 Landslide XTE.

An Affordable 1/8th Scale Basher

The Redcat Racing Landslide has been around since 2009 with the original nitro 1/10th scale monster truck was introduced. Aluminum capped oil-filled dampers and adjustable suspension comes standard, along with large wheels and tires with an aggressive tread pattern. The Landslide XTE is setup for a pair of 3s or 4s LiPo's.

Wow, that's a very long wheel axle extension, nice to give lot of stress on wheel axle and bearings

That was the first thing I noticed too. I bet those are going to bend. A lot.

V1 Kraton has long axles, but not that long. And it eats bearings. I finally upgraded my Kraton with the v2 hubs and axles because of this.

Yeah, that axle seems like a bad idea.

Wait, this runs 6s-8s (2 3s or 4s) or runs 3s-4s (2 batteries for better runtime)?

Either way it seems that a 1/8 brushless monster truck needs a little higher amp esc?

Yeah, that threw me to. But the motor is "550" size, so probably a 3660, 1920kv, so 80a should do it. Battery trays look 2s size, so I am guessing just bad wording, and it is 4s max.

I own 3s hardcase stick batteries who have the same size than 2s battery. But it is hard to believe that a 80A HW esc can be used with 6s. When i try to see what is writen on the esc on the photo, i can read SC8 RTR. But the SC8 RTR is 120A and can be used with 4s max.

When we read the manual : http://www.redcatracing.com/manuals/...EXTEMANUAL.pdf , it say 11.1 or 14.4V so not 6s.

That makes more sense for sure.

Will be interesting to see reviews with those crazy long axle things!
