Guess 'dual microphone' doesn't mean 'stereo'?

This means finally 2k video with gyro on?

Well... so why a GoPro nowdays? :P
In my personal point of view...i think GOPRO should make a action camera with Hollywood standarts... and leave what they started which was only good in the begining cause of size and shape...not price or quality....

For the SJ8, 4k 60fps with no gyro... it's not a action cam. It's just numbers to sell...

Action cam's should have always de gyro ON! But we can't have it all... Let's wait...maybe a year for 4k 60fps gyro ON & 2k 120fps gyro ON??

GoPro1,2,3 & 4 never had gyro EIS... and they are still popular

Yeah it's limited by the chipset, other wise just a guess it will over heat. If they could they would

one day for sure this will be achievable. just not sure when lol

That's why the GO PRO 1, 2 and 3 sucked so badly as their fisheye terrible effect with no LCD to show things!! And paying always 500$ for a thing like that... LOL...who was the crazy people doing that? Money people...who wanted a small form factor video camera, which was the prime "GOAL" of GOPRO... size!! lol

As for the 4 Go Pro, it's a very good machine. didn't know the 4 had not "gyro". Must be a recent tech, feature!

Any action cam should have "gyro". OR is not an action cam. IMHO!

2k 60fps gyro on, seens to be possible now with the future sj8...just hope video quality improves to...rather then just number's of 4k 60fps mambo jambo marketing sales speach!! It's all on the sensor & lens...and compoments layout & quality! Specs are good to sell...but generally are not representative of quality..i mean video quality!

I have a Sjcam4000+ that i do not use it anymore...since i got the Firefly8s! :P But it had it's time! It was not excelent, but was not that to bad either! It was the open door for me to enter on the action cameras "size". And oh boy... i do really needed one!

I still have my 4000+ also, i really liked that camera, the 4mpix OV sensor was great. That camera "reincarnated" into the OnePaa X2000 / Turnigy Eclipse, and it was "tuned" for FPV, but sadly it doesn't get so much support and only just some basic firmware upgrades were released for it until now.

I heard it from the "grape vine" that the x2000 will get an update soon

I agree, an action camera today needs gyro stabilisation, 60fps and 1080 resolution, an action camera for 2018 should have all of those and 4K. Not being able to gyro stabilise 4K 60fps is a big problem, do you use it at 30fps which is no good for action, or use it at 1080 resolution but many much cheaper cameras can do that, or maybe you have to buy an expensive gimbal stabiliser which makes it a very expensive camera and useless for things like mounting on a bike or helmet.

Most people will save their money and wait for the next new camera that can do 4K 60fps with gyro stabilisation, that will be one that everybody wants! So far every 4K action camera has been a compromise only solved if you can mount it on a gimbal stabiliser.

for me 4K is too much, 1080p 60p is very enough for me, especally if there is a good quality image. I would prefer very good image and just 1080 than just normal or low quality with 4K 60p. A lot of people cant even process 4k videos and it takes a lot of space on HDD.

4k is going to stay. There is a whole another level of video quality when using it. I do used 1080p 60fps but now i use 2k 60fps videos but still miss the gyro...cause at 2k there is no gyro on the firefly 8s. Even on youtube material recorded on 4k is absolutly wonderfull.... so 4k is needed. I recon its a little ahead of its time cause our hardware needs an update but in 2 years pcs...tvs...mobile devices will andle 4k like we see now a dvd at 480p... it's just a thing we have to wait...but the recording hardware is already avaiable and cheap...the major goal of anything is being cheap and avaiable. Can't wait for 4k 60fps gyro ON in action cameras.... the big next step is 4k 60fps but no gyro on. 2 years and we will have it....gyro ON.
