NARCA Aerotow Huntsville, AL 2017 - Who Is Coming?

Hi guys! Please reply if you are planning on coming to our NARCA 2017 Aerotow Event October 5-8 in Harvest, Alabama? Tim Batt is the CD again this year and I believe he had one pre-registration as of a few weeks ago - he should have more by now. I will have the 105cc Drag Queen tow plane available for towing duty, and also plan to bring my 5m ASW 28-18 and new 4.5m Pilatus B4.

I'll be attending, but only as a spectator/photographer. I've already made a room reservation in Athens. Driving up Thursday; may or may not make it to the field that afternoon, staying until Sunday afternoon. I just started building a 1:3.5 Slingsby Sedbergh.

I do hope to be there. Just depends on how well I fair my chemo treatment, and the dates of said treatment. I hope to bring my new Hangar 9 Valiant tow-plane for someone to fly. I'm not proficient yet, lol. It's powered by a DLE 40 Twin. Might have a 4M Ka6 and my old LS4.

TJ, my favourite sailplane to fly full scale as a kid. All the RC models of this sailplane never have the block of wood in the nose. A lead block replaced the wood when being flown solo.

Sorry to hear that you're having to undergo chemo. I hope you're able to make it as well.

Have no fear, my T21b will be as accurate as I can make it. I have since found plans for a more accurate to scale version, but the ones I have are pretty darn close. The biggest exception being how the wings mount to the pylon. I'm intending to create a fully animated cockpit. IMO the open cockpit demands it .

Yes Sir, the Barge! You won't see it this year, but I'm hoping I can make it to a few aero-tow's with it next year. Maybe Cumberland in the spring if it falls on my weekend off.

For a welcome change the weather looks to be SPECTACULAR this year. If we pretend the weather guessers are correct it should be low 80s for the entire event with slight rain chances on Saturday and Sunday. For those that care the menu is about the same as it has been. As of Sept 30th Tim says we have 13 preregistered pilots. I'm stoked for a great event.

Keith, tell the docs to give you something that won't mess you up. It won't be the same if you don't make it!

Hey Rick, I was at the hospital when your email came through, lol. I was supposed to have chemo today but my platelets are too low. Not low enough to require a transfusion however.
So, is my cup half full, or half empty. My cup overflows during this experience.
I will be coming in on Thursday. I was going to stay over until Monday but need to be back in LR for the chemo I missed today. I'm mainly coming to enjoy some good fellowship, but will be bringing my Valiant tug. It doesn't know it's a tug because it hasn't tugged yet, lol. Anyone who wants to show it what to do is welcome to do so.

See you guys soon,

Keith

It was a great event, even though it got shortened one day due to Hurricane Nate. I took a lot of photos. Here's a link to an album on Flickr.
