Thanks August

The 3/16" Carbon Fiber tubes finally came in at the hobby store yesterday...quick road trip to Edmonton last night and back to building today.

I roughed out the linkage and tested with the radio and it all works good, will mount the permanent rod bearings in the ribs and finish off the linkage a get to covering.

Will post some video's later of the slats working with the radio

Only thing I don't like is flipping a switch on the radio and the slats are either full out quickly or retracted quick...would be cool to roll them out slowly and back in slowly...will do some more reading on this DX6 G3 setup.

Failure is not an option

Terry - Some radios have a servo slow down feature but I don't think the DX6 has it. There are separate modules for this available however that plug in line with the servo and that are adjustable. Night Fly is one - part number NF-SD1. There may be others on the market.

Thankyou for the info Rob,

Still messing with the linkage....the servo buzzing is going to drive me

I put the servo channel to the throttle for right now for testing

Things should tighten up and the buzzing noise should go once I get the bearings in tonight and the linkage dialed in.....I hope

I'll bet the full scale versions open at close to that speed. Remember, they were either open or closed, and were spring loaded to pop open at a given angle of attack. You don't want them loitering about on their way to work.

Good morning Thayer.......yup....will stick with having them on the on/off switch......keep forgetting they were either open or closed with air speed.

Did Rob talk you into building one of these in large scale yet?

Its been a learning curve for me along the way but really enjoy the challenge of making these small parts for more detail.
