Any proven electric setups for this girl? Specs? I don't want her underpowered as I hear she is s bit porky as built to plans! Thanks

A Rimfire 80 is a popular choice (from Tower Hobbies). I have Rimfire motors on other airplanes and they are excellent quality.

I am going with a more powerful and expensive 2000W Scorpion motor (Scorpion SII-4025-520). I will use a 15 or 16" prop and 6s 4000-5000 LiPo. I made a hatch on the bottom and am fabrication a battery platform. Bottom battery hatch is real easy but some like a top battery hatch but that's a lot more work.

I started last winter but no time to build over the summer. Hope to get it finished this winter.

I am using 4 small size servos (HS-85 size) for the ailerons.

Ailerons

I used two servos but each driving a torque rod. Big mistake! I had the dreaded aileron flutter. Walter, I agree with RC Man-use individual servos directly connected to each aileron. Also, his recommendation to the Rimfire 80 is spot on! 6S and a 15/8 is the way to go.

Don't you just love Sig kits?

I just got through building an Astro Hog. Sig labels it a "builder's kit". Except for having to cut some thick balsa, it was a breeze to build and very enjoyable. And, as kits go today, very inexpensive.

Yes I really like sig kits. My first kit was there riser. 78". I just placed my order for a rimfire 80 and a motor mount. Already have a 85 amp esc in my goodies drawer. Will work with 6s. Batts. Perfect.

I'm planning on moding this revolver 70 cowl for the front of my hog. looks like a very close fit. I think I can work with this.

Looking forward to watching this build! I love my Hog. I modded the tail and the wingtips on mine. Flies fantastic and was a very easy enjoyable kit to build!

Do you have photos of your modifications.

I finished my fuselage and getting ready to build the tail. Did you keep the same area or increase it?
