RBC kits 90mm F4D Skyray

So I was poking around on fanjets usa because I liked the 90mm panther, and now I see they are offering a 90mm Skyray ! Anyone purchased one of these yet ? Was wondering about the quality of the kit. Sure would like to build one.

From the pics, it looks like a pretty good size airframe. look at the size of the canopy compared to the hand.

RBC kits are very good quality..They have been around for a long time. If I didn't already have 2 skyrays I would picl up one of these.

Got it yesterday, marking all the formers and ribs now. Will load some pictures of the unboxing when I get home. This is a nice kit. The quality of the wood is exceptional !

They give you instructions on cd. The text is loosely translated English, but not too bad. Also on the cd is another file with a TON of construction pictures, which are going to be a big help, since the instructions are not really that detailed. But I think anyone with prior building experience won't have much trouble with this kit. The only thing on the plans that is drawn full scale are the wing and stab layouts, but they do have some nice 3D layouts of the sub assemblies so you can get a visual of how things go together. I'm in the process of cutting all the parts out of the sheets, and trimming them, then will get this build started !

I have bought directly from RBC but seems trickier now. Their kits are superb. Have e-mailed fanjets to see if they plan on getting more -- will advise their response to me. I want one!

This will be #4. Have a 70mm from Bill Effinger plans --- originally powered with a Midwest glo powered fan, a 6mm foamy pusher version and a super mini foamy pusher version. I also built a bungee launch, minifan version kit a long time ago which I am sure was an RBC kit ? Had molded clear acetate intakes and exhaust duct.

Yes, RBC. One of the finest flying early edf's on 150- perhaps 325 watts.
