Wattage Cessna 182 with Curtek Lights!

The lights are way brighter than in the pictures. I can switch the landing lights on from my remote.

I cant say enough good things about the Curtek lights. Everything from the packaging to the included documentation was 100% perfect.

That looks so clean! Very nice looking plane. I cant wait untill my Curteks arrive. I doubt they arrive anytime soon, but from the looks of your plane, Im in for a treat. How does the Cessna fly?

Thanks. I have always wanted a scale Cessna.

The specs are:
Wing Span: 41 inches
Wing Area: 220 sq. in.
Length Overall: 31 inches
Weight: 22-28 ounces
Wing Loading: 14-18 oz/sq. ft.

I have not flown it yet. I wanted to today but it has been way too windy.

Right now I have a ChiliPepper 3600 brushless with an Aero Naut 3:1 GB. I will probably fly with an 8 or 9 inch prop and a 3cell lipo. I have several that fit. I weighed it with a Kokam 3s 2000 pack and it weighed 26oz. Like all Wattage planes, it is a brick. But it will fly.

The pics show a 10 inch prop. The Chilli Pepper will easily handle it but it is not necescary for this plane. I will paint it after I maiden it.

I should say that I can easily shed a few ounces by using a smaller Rx. Right now I am using an old Futaba 7 channel Rx that is about 2" by 3" and must weigh about 5 oz. +/-. Plus the light system may add about 1.5 oz. And that 10" prop adds a couple more oz. than an APC 9" wich I will fly with. Also I will use a Apogee 1660mAh 3s which is lighter that the setup I weighed it with.

So you should be able to get the weight down close to 20 ounces with this plane.

Slick looking plane with those lights. Are they hooked to the RX for remote switching?

Yes, I hope it flies well too.

Here is a pic of the mount. I had to chop down the stock motor mount as it is designed for direct drive.

Nice airplane. Looks real. The lights make it more realistic. When do you use the lights when flying?

Just like a real airplane, the navigation lights are on all the time. The landing lights in the cowling I will turn on when I am on a final aproach.

With the Curtek system, you can have the nav lights strobe (flash), or stay on continuously.

Thank you for the picture.
What brand of gearbox and who sells that one?
I've never seen that gearbox before. I wonder if it will fit Himaxx.

Yeah...if this cessna flies really well...that'll be sweeet. My previous experience with
wattage is so-so (Piper Cub 400 EP). It has a weird flying characteristic.
I hope the Cessna will be good.

Thank you
