INDOOR Lobster Combat in our 20x40 tent Wed night. Vapors,Embers etc. Prob other prizes besides the paltry lobster rolls.

Gotta get my towplane ready !

Gotta figure out a streamer !

Consider this practice for the big evemt in JCSF tent ! I'll be there.

Feedback anyone?
I have cut down rolls of standard paper streamers to about 1/2 inch on a band saw and used them for indoor combat. Now this is kind of dangerous so be careful if you chose to do it.. I bet someone could come up with a neat little jig (no pun intended) to hold the roll while cutting..

I was just about to post... I just came back inside from my very dark driveway where I had no problem towing 9' of 3/8 wide streamer. Flies like it isn't even there. Any longer I could probably cut it with the night Vapor towplane.

I rolled up about 4.5' on a pencil then cut with scissors. Tried 4.4' flew great. Tiny bit of tape then tried 9'. No difference and flies great.
Rules?

Use Rule #2.

That way I can just figure it out.
Strangely, FPV HAS BECOME SO SMALL, I may let someone try. If there's more than one tiny FPV then game on for a round, why not? We're going to have fun!

I'm having fun already just planning.

Rob, what kind of interest from JCSF for indoor combat? I have another idea too.

Hey Al,

Hmmm... sounds interesting. I'll let the guys know - we just need to make sure there are enough planes left for the next night

6 lbs of lobstermeat in the freezer. Not all of it is prizes .
Buy live bugs night Sunday night late as possible.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, it's been a long year since last NEAT.

OK Guys

got the last test flight in today before it started to pour! Rob K, you weren't too far off with your configuration.

Basically, I bought a bare airframe not long after I bough the Eflite Convergence VTOL at xmas 2016. I thought I would eventually need it but I have had such good luck with mine, I decided to bash it into a Lobstah Mawhla! (BTW, that will be the name on a decal as soon as I can get it printed!)

Basically, took out everything needed for vtol flight, put on a couple of 2208-1450 motors 6 x 4 CR props and a 4S-1800mah pack. Man does she scoot! I get 5 minutes easy on the pack.

I filled in the aft prop hole and cleaned it up a bit aerodynamically and added a body flap for elevator instead of mixing it into a delta wing. She turns very tight without any hint of a stall!

Lobstah streamers beware!
