I agree with Jerry, you will have a blast. You're driving down there anyway. If you're a pilot you could win the servos set from SUSA. Come on down!

Lou Fox, Brian Chan, and me are flying at F5J in Santa Margarita. It is a small pilot's list of enthusiastic guys including the top pilots in the F5J USA Tour. Been fun so far and we haven't even flown a round yet <g>. More soon.

Final scores for Santa Margarita were posted yesterday evening here. It was a small but challenging event.

Now we all shift focus toward F5J in Sacramento. If you are reading this and are an SVSS dude now is a great time to sign up.

F5J practice contests, next 2 Sundays

The F5J in Sacramento event is only a little over 2 weeks away. If you missed it the official announcement is here. Register by clicking here.

In prep for the contest we will be staging another couple of practice contests this Sunday (Sept 3) and the following Sunday (Sept 10). We did this 2.5 weeks ago and had a great time. Here's how it works:
Pilots meeting 8:30am (to beat the heat). We will set up a series of F5J landing tapes and a battery-powered speaker for the timing announcements. We will fly 4 rounds. Before each round we will huddle and discuss F5J strategy, then launch. I'll do the official scoring when I get home later.
If you do not have an F5J limiter I will bring a few CAMf5j units that are made available courtesy of the F5J USA Tour. Several other club members have extras to loan too if they come.

This is a Share-the-air day so the field will be open to all SVSS rule-abiding flyers.

RSVP Please -- We will only do this if at least 4 people come. If I don't get 4 responses then I'll send an email out and cancel; otherwise it's a go!

Bring water and a snack if you need it. We should be done by ~10:30.

Hope to see you there
