E-flite PT-17 1.1m BNF Basic with AS3X
E-flite just introduced another warbird to add to their expanding lineup. The E-flite PT-17 1.1m is modeled after the Navy trainer used during WWII and comes with a 15-sized brushless and plenty of scale detail!
A U.S. Navy Inspired Replica
The Horizon Hobby camp has just announced a new warbird to add to their lineup of classic airframes in the E-flite hangar. The E-flite PT-17 1.1m BNF Basic with AS3X is a foam-constructed rendition of the famous bi-plane trainer used by the Army and Navy during WWII. The E-flite PT-17 features a 15-sized brushless motor and an AS3X Receiver with Optional SAFE Select Technology. I can be powered with a 2200–3000mAh 3S LiPo, and comes in either PNP or BNF versions.
E-flite outfitted the PT-17 with functional strut landing gear with scale wheels and tires, and a realistic dummy radial-engine. The E-flite PT-17 1.1m BNF Basic sells for $199.99 as a PNP, and $229.99 for the BNF version. It's scheduled for availability in early September 2017.

This looks a lot more scale than some of the other foam offerings. Good job FMS...er. I mean E-flite....

I love how easy the wings come apart. I need to take planes apart for transport, and bi planes has always been a hasle and pain to put together and take apart. But this doesnt even need tools, not to mention that it looks great. Would have loved it even better if it was a Moth, but I can always settle for a Stearman. Theres also a product video for it now

Looks like the wing cord has been widened,probably to reduce wing loading.Still.it looks much better than all previous foam offerings.I would have bought the FMS version,but I just could not stand the swept back top wing.It just didn't look right.I can see myself buying this one though.Flight characteristics look great.
