H-King Wargo YAK 55 EPP KIT
!Hover, Harrier and Tumble Like a Pro
The H-King Wargo Yak55 just hit the market. It's an EPP 3D foamie and HobbyKing worked with 3D pilot Michael Wargo on the design. Michael says "The Wargo Signature Yak 55 is the realization of my goal to have the perfect 3D and aerobatic training aircraft." He has taught many pilots to fly 3D aerobatics and this is a great plane to do that with. Being made from EPP with carbon fiber reinforcements, you'll be able to practise lower with more confidence and build your skills faster. This is a kit, so you'll need to provide your own power system and radio gear. It uses a 30-35 size brushless motor and H-King recommends their 3530-1150kv Turnigy Aerodrive outrunner and a 10 or 11" prop with an Aerostar 30A ESC. The wingspan is just over a meter so it will fit in smaller cars. For the rest of the electronics you'll need to have some 3S 1300-1800mAH lipos on hand and four 9-12g servos. !!Check out the H-King Wargo Yak 55 @1.jpg @2.jpg @3.jpg @4.jpg |

I think many people recognizes this, I have had it for a couple of years allready in a different scheme. But it flies really well, very easy to do some 3D stuff for people who arent really good at it, like me. It can hold a kife edge as long as you like with very little input.

To bad they don't offer/recommend a power system with it. For many newer pilots, that would make it much easier to purchase

Yup, had this plane in the past under the old colour scheme, bit confused how MW designed it cause it's the same, even the fittings are the same but black glass parts now and definitely not carbon like he says in the video (even the hk build daily video state glass parts) so nothing new apart from the colour of the plane.
But they do fly really well, I gave my old one to my mate so glad they brought it back and I managed to get another, for the price you can't go wrong. |

Sorry guys! I gave HK too much credit for common sense. I have just physically tried a WARGO kit and the motor mount is exactly the same as the old Yak55. This means the mount would need to bigger laterally by 1mm each side for an SK3 3530 V1. For a SK3 3530 V2 (which has a different mount) it would need to be 2mm laterally and 1mm vertically each side. I could have the versions wrong as the mounts may have been swapped between boxes but check your motor before modding.

The big difference between the older Yak 55 and this Wargo Yak is the weight. The old one I have tipped the scales at 900 grams without battery, 40 Amp BlueSeries ESC and Turnigy D3536 1000 kv motor. The Wargo Series is 740 grams, albeit with 30 Amp BlueSeries ESC and the recommended Donkey ST3007 1100kv motor.
The weight difference cannot be traced to the power combo -I guess it has to do with a lighter foam. It is very well balanced in its flight characteristics, needs very little mixing for perfect knife-edge, hovers very well, and tumbles not as well as the old one, but this must be due to the weight difference. I am loving it... |

Hummer . Available from Hobbyking and many other sellers. I didnt like it, but thousand of others love it.
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/h-king-h...ne-1000mm.html The new M.Wargo MX2 . Not as easy to repair as EPP though Or the older MX2 , seems really cheap now. The new PP versions will be better though . https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykin...955mm-arf.html Future Model 38" scale Edge PP . From banggood or Aliexpress (possibly the best of all of these ? ) Future Model MX2 PP . From banggood or Aliexpress . See the separate topic regarding this one |
