Best RC Field Chair

After trying dozens of different field chairs over the years I recently got this one and absolutely love it.

Side table, side pockets (zipper, Velcro & mesh + key ring carabiner), opens with one motion (one handed with a little practice), no unfolding/folding/bagging, super lightweight, super strong, cup/bottle holder (fits XL drinks), shoulder strap for no-hands carry (with drinks and pockets loaded), stores flat, slots for optional lightweight tilt sunshade.

It's more expensive than the ones at Costco but it's worth it because it's well thought out, built like a tank, nicely padded and very lightweight compared to other chairs. Having a table for my transmitter, pockets for field tools, and a ring my battery checker is attached to (on a retracting key reel) plus my own shade for when all the shade is taken is the lap of luxury.

Good find! Here's the link: https://www.harborfreight.com/foldab...air-62314.html

Available in stores only. Looking at the photo there are less pockets on the side and the configuration is different. But the frame looks very similar so it might be from the same factory. Always hard to tell with these Chinese products as they clone one another so well. It does not appear to have a shoulder carry strap and attach points or tie down straps for the optional sun shade.

Next time I go by a Harbor Freight I'll stop in and see if it feels the same.

My friend has several of these and two things stand out, at least for me.

The back position is fine if at a table eating or other pursuits, but too upright for long term sitting. Also, the two front cross bars tend to press against my thighs. A bit painful over time.

I personally use these from Coleman:

No bars to poke, open mesh allows good breathing and the high back allows me to relax much better and watch the flying.

Only complaint after several years is some of the hardware is soft and can bend. Replacing it over time with better.

I looked at those. They don't leave enough room in your car for a plane!

If you like to fly your plane while sitting down, you might consider a folding swivel chair.
$37.43 at Walmart.

Man, that almost looks as uncomfortable as some of the full-size helis I flew.

Also reminds me too much of detention or parent/teacher nights.................
