Eflite 60-120 retracts


Can someone PLEASE help me with my question??
I have the 60-120 eflite retracts.
Coming out of the trinion is about a 3/16 hole for a wire strut.
I just bought struts from Horizon for a P 47.
The struts have about a 1/2" shaft on them...........
Is there different trinions???

Usually struts like that have receptacle set up down the middle. You put the 3/16 wire into the landing gear and then the 1/2 strut goes on the 3/16 wire.

Or this from EFLG500 manual:

. Operate the retract and loosen the Trunion screw (M). Remove the strut setscrews
(L), wire strut (H) and wire adapter bushing (O) from the retract.

The trinion I have only have a 3/15 (Approx) hole in the center.
It doesn't have the insert .
That's why I was wondering if I can change out the trinion

I guess it would be off to the lathe for me then. Make a hole in the strut for wire. Maybe drill out trunnion a tiny bit bigger if that was the only option.

Trunnions are not that complicated. Even if minor adaptation needed. Where to get one is the question.

These all came with the standard trunnion pin size, if memory serves 5mm. I believe there were options for different angles such as 85-90 degrees, but not sure if it was the trunnion or other bits that made the difference.

If the retract is in the extended position you have access to the double set screw lock system to remove the pin. However, that was more for alignment and replacement than anything else. This pin was intended to be the anchor for your struts. It is there that you had some options. Most would either already have that 5mm receiver hole, (you ordered them that way or drilled them to size) or different inserts to allow them to fit different anchor points.

In one particular case there were aftermarket trunnions available that were undrilled and much more durable than stock Eflite. Unfortunately I contacted the seller and they are no longer available.

From the pics you can see I milled my own for the T/F AT-6 Texan and offset them with the required 15 degrees required. Lots of work there and no spares.
