Did I make the A Main?

very nice!

I had always hoped that the 3 wheelers would catch on to become a popular class, I've always liked the looks of the Red Cat Strykr

Hello Bill,

Yes, true words! When it comes to steering the 3-wheeler I built is quite amazing too. I did some radical turns and it handled it quite well. The Stryk-R has beautiful lines and gave me also a tad of inspiration. Contrary to the Stryk-R I decided to:
- keep LiPo and ESC as much to the center line as possible (i.e. LiPo lengthwise!)
- keep total weight down as much as possible
- no gearing, no transmission, just a foamy tyre around a low kV brushless outrunner
- rather thin rc-plane tyres at the front to keep ground friction as low as possible.

In result the currents that flow are ridiculously low, temperature of components barely measurable. I like the speed so far :-).

What to do when the rear-tyre wears out and... the local groceryshop offers flipflops at a considerable discount?

Very cool project! I like the thought of the three wheel vehicles in RC. I'm working on a project which incorporates a free floating prototype skeleton chassis, front mono-shock suspension, rear direct drive, castle creations powered..

@cudacharger Very nice lines and I like the low chassis, that will help keep CofG as low as possible. I think you will be fine with an outrunner with kV <1,000 on 2s.

This is my test on smooth tarmac. The handling suffered a little from the rather heavy camera on top of it.

Will there be a 3D-printed version available?

It seems someone created one and placed it on Thingiverse. I am not sure if that is what you mean?

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3084009

The recommended parts are amongst others:
- A2212 1.000kV brushless motor
- 2S or 3S battery

My recommendations are:
- 750kV or less for the brushless motor (range: 500kV - 750kV)
- 2s LiPo or 2s LiFe (not 3s)

And, yes, with a slightly modified four-wheel-version, my Depron study-model was able to reach speeds in excess of 40kmh:

I have some extra recommendations for the SWIFF:

1. attach servo-arm as far outwards as possible for smooth and not too direct steering behaviour
2. make wheel-base longer
3. make rear-wheel smaller for smooth operation of outrunner , i.e. a. acceleration from zero speed (which outrunners don't like) b. amounts of torque at a given RPM within specification of the outrunner

It looks like someone tried to outsmart your design-choices, Eric :-).
