FrSky- Horus X10 and X10S and New Express
The New FrSky Horus X10 and X10S Express ACCESS
The new X10S/X10 Express has arrived. The Express is one in series of existing FrSky systems that are being updated to the ACCESS specs. First was the X-Lite Pro, X9D Plus/SE 2019 and then the Express. The Express systems have the new ACCESS ISRM = Internal Serial RF Module. The ISRM supports the new 24 Channel FrSky ACCESS protocol, Spectrum Analyzer and RF power meter. Plus the Express has the features listed here https://www.frsky-rc.com/frsky-horus...tters-release/ Some of the updates for the systems are more extensive than others and in the case of the Express it includes a new main board. The new Express system runs an Express version of FrOS and it is available as an Express version of OpenTX 2.3 nightly X10S Express battery https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ostcount=12312 Some of the FrOS Express changes I've noticed is the old FrOS "Update" function has been incorporated in the "Files" function. Navigate to the SD card and Firmware folder. Select the file you want to flash and the flash options are in the popup screen. The FrOS Express firmware flashing is the same as the X10S/X10, but the FrOS flashing and RF module are now a separate process. When you flash the system with FrOS Express the internal RF module is not flashed like it was on the X10S/X10. You use the "Files" function to flash the ISRM. The spectrum analyzer on the Express color screen is quite impressive compared to the other ACCESS systems with monochrome screens. Because the ACCESS RF controls take up more screen space the internal module and external module have separate screens selected from the first page of MDL. The INFO screen has two pages now. The first page as before for system information and the second page has the ISRM and receiver firmware version information. X10S/X10 FrOS Express screen images. What is new and registration and receiver binding https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ostcount=12478 Information from FrSky on the RSSI alarm value for the ISRM in ACCESS mode https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=352 The X10S/x10 Express is supported by FrOS Express and OpenTX 2.3.1. OpenTX radio type Horus X10 Express. When the External antenna is selected the antenna functions by its self. When the External antenna is not selected the two internal antennas function together in time share. ACCESS For Existing X10S/X10 Systems Firmware Update and ACCESS Upgrade Module Kit information https://www.frsky-rc.com/access-upgr...-kit-x10-x10s/ This update provides the ACCESS feature and new Bluetooth for existing X10S/X10 systems, but does not convert the system to a X10S/X10 Express system. As stated in the Express section above, the Express has a newly designed main board, etc. that supports the R9M 2019 in ACCESS mode . The ISRM RF module listed as the X10S/X10 ACCESS Upgrade Module "Kit" or "Upgrade" is the ISRM provided for upgrading existing X10S/X10 systems to ACCESS and it uses this ISRM firmware, https://www.frsky-rc.com/access-upgr...-kit-x10-x10s/ It is critical that the ISRM is updated with the 2.1.0. firmware. along with the ACCESS receivers. Any D16 receivers operating in D16 mode with the ISRM will also need the 2.1.0. firmware. To avoid any confusion, as of 10/15/19 Upgrade ISRM is the only ISRM for sale from FrSky dealers. I’m using the ACCESS RSSI warning level FrSky recommended of 32 and 35. However it is recommend that careful range checking is done and then set the RSSI warning alarm to a higher number if needed. OpenTX versions 2.3.9. or newer support the ISRM upgrade including OTA functions. Select "internalaccess" in the X10 /X10S or X12S build options for the ISRM Upgrade Module. Upgrade and Express ISRMs look identical externally, but the upgrade module is marked in felt tip pen “SA” or similar. The ISRM Express has no markings. For the X10S.X10 the ISRM board itself is a plug in, after removing the X10S back cover and disconnecting the three antennas on the IXJT. The antenna connections are in the same physical location on the ISRM as they are on the IXJT. The Bluetooth module update requires some challenging de-soldering and soldering. The original Bluetooth continues to work if it is not replaced with the update. Currently production X10/X10S Express ISRMs use ISRM firmware 2.1.0. from here https://www.frsky-rc.com/horus-x10-express/ Both the X10/X10S with the ISRM Upgrade Module and the X10S/X10 Express ISRM are interchangeable and use the same FrOS Express build. But best to use the FrOS provided at the ISRM upgrade link. When the External antenna is selected the antenna functions by its self. When the External antenna is not selected the two internal antennas function together in time share. I just saw this on Instagram
I love the tan colours, if it's light and has the same grips on the back as the X7, I'd be tempted to pick one up for a butchers at it. |

Since the X9D SE is £230 here in the UK I'm gonna guess at £299-350, whatcha think?

As a horus owner Im sure glad they didnt add more features over the 12 . i wouldnt be happy . Is it just me but it looks a little plasticy and cheap . It may well not be the case in real life . i must admit i wasnt keen on the Horus looks at 1st but now i like it . Cheers

I also said that accelerometers and GPS were not very useful and back sliders should be placed sideways Now I need to know if the Tx hook is made out of cheap plastic and if there is a ball bearing under the roller/ wheel ![]() https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...0#post35710763 |
