What a stupid idea. Let the market drive the adoption.

Is that similar to "you can't fix wilful ignorance or arrogance"?

Never going to happen. By the time 2040 rolls around, it looks like everyone in France is going to be driving camels.

An admission of the failure of electric vehicles with respect to markets. Another idea so fantastic you must force people to choose it.

Failure? No. Up until Tesla, no one had made a compelling electric car. The S sales are strong.

Yeah, right. BS walks, actual voluntary choice talks.

Get rid of the subsidies and distortions, *then* let's see how it actually shakes out.

You'd never support that because you know the answer and *want* interference.

Prove me wrong. Let's be bipartisan and *both* oppose subsidies and market distortions and tax breaks on *all* sides...petroleum, coal, gas, and electrics...and see what people *actually* choose.

Model S outsells comparable BMW, Mercedes, and Audi models combined. A tax break is irrelevant to those shelling out 100k for a car. Regardless the incentives will expire and we shall see.

All prognostication. ONLY in an undistorted market do you see *actual* value decisions on the basis of the goods themselves being made.

You evade my challenge and comments for a reason.

Do you think a model S driver got it because of the incentives?

You do realize the market is not the answer for everything, right?

There is no way to know, because the distortions include any and all tax breaks, loan guarantees, grants, etc handed to Tesla not just the buyer.

Markets are not the answer for everything, correct. Only in places where people wish to trade with each other.
